    2003 1.8 petrol - which ECU?

Hi All, I was wondering which Engine Management Unit is fitted to the petrol 1.8 (2003)? Only reason for asking is that I would like to diagnose a misfire on my car and have borrowed a Lynx Diagnostic tool but am not sure which engine Management model to select from the list. The last one...

    Land Rover Disco 50th Anniversary

I see it didn't meet the reserve. Might be interested to replace my gaylander. What are you looking for?

    Epsom Green with LPG

Hi. Assuming the L322 is still for sale, may I ask a couple of questions: 1. What is the year of registration? 2. With regards to the satnav and DVD. Does this mean that the nav computer has been swapped from a CD based unit to the DVD based one? 3. Whereabouts in the UK are you? 4. What...

    Diagnostic Software

Interesting thought. Actually I was thinking of perhaps linking up my version of INPA / NCSExpert to the landy to see if I can get it to communicate with the immobiliser system given that it's made by BMW. The idea being... can I code a key to the car and save paying my local stealer to do it!

1.8 petrol new owner early thoughts

Thought I would post my initial thoughts and experiences having recently joined the 'green oval' club with a 2003 1.8 petrol ES 5 door. The car was bought as an occasional load logger and transport for me to follow my passion for fishing where venues are often down long, muddy and rutted...

1.8 coolant leak at rear of engine

So I have applied some liquid metal to the small pinhole and all seems fine and the leak is stopped. What I will do now is apply a little more liquid metal and the place a fuel hose clip around the whole lot to ensure it stays fixed whilst the liquid metal is still liquid. I didn't want to do...

1.8 coolant leak at rear of engine

8ugger, I hoped it wouldn't come to that. Am I right in thinking that it's just a press fit with some sealant and that's why it tends to get damaged when removed? Also, I assume that the IRD has to be drained of oil first?

1.8 coolant leak at rear of engine

Thanks for the help. I'll try liquid metal first but if not I guess I'll have to buy the replacement unit you linked to. Is it reasonably easy to fit?

1.8 coolant leak at rear of engine

So after just a week or so of ownership... first problem. Yesterday I noticed a small pool of water under the car after a run of 20 miles or so. Sure enough the expansion tank was low so I topped it up. Since then there is a steady drip drip drip which is worse when the car is warm but...

    Newbie tyre question

Thanks fore the link to the tyre rotation info. Will drop in to my local tyre fitters and see what they have to offer as alternatives to the Wranglers.

    Newbie tyre question

OK, sounds like it's not been running for long with the mixture of tyres. Excuse my ignorance but what do you mean by 'go out of shape'? What would you recommend instead of Wrangler (15 inch wheels on the car)?

    Newbie tyre question

Thanks for the advice. At the moment the two front tyres have quite a bit less tread than the rears. I've had a further look and have spotted that one tyre is different to all the rest and looks almost brand new. It's on the back so what I might do is buy three more to match it if it is...

    Newbie tyre question

Hi All, Just bought my first Landrover (1.8 Freelander) and have introduced myself in the new owners section. I have a question on tyres. Is there a general rule for when the amount of wear on tyres is different between front and rear to prolong the life of the drivetrain. In other words...

    Newbie Freelander owner

Hi all, Just bought my first ever Landrover which is a 2003 1.8GS Freelander station wagon. Had lots of recent work including updated head gasket, cat back exhaust, clutch and front brake discs and pads. Everything works (at the moment) except that the rear wiper is missing. I'm fully...
