Keep mods on RRC or put back to standard spec?

Well it wouldn't be be stock, more original like taking off the koni lift kit and replacing it with a standard high kit. Also taking off the big tyres and using something more towards the standard size?

Keep mods on RRC or put back to standard spec?

I've got a 1993 Range Rover Vogue SE 3.9, I've been looking on the internets and have found that there are RRC's like mine, just in better nick at this moment in time, going for a good few grand. It got me wondering, should I ditch the lift kit, 265/75 tyres ect and put back to standard spec to...

MORE POWER! Can it take it?

From my memory your lt box will turn into iron filings at anything over 225lb ft of torque ( with out any thing done) the most popular choice for uprated ungines is the R380 as that can respectively take 380 lb/ft. I've seen quite a few with a GMC 6.2 diesel block attached.

    Converting BACK to electronic ignition

Just got down to have a nother tinker with the beast today, I couldn't find a white and black wire to the coil, just to the MAF, perhaps the RRC was a bit different - you know because using different wiring on 2 nearly identical engines would make sense! But joy of all joys she's 90 degrees out...

    Greetings from Perthshire Scotland

Welcome to LZ, I'm sure you'll enjoy it here. 10 grand will get you a very nice Defender, shame you missed a 110 11 seater with a GMC 6.2 a few weeks ago on ebay that went for 9k!

    never got the 22" wheels

I've never understood why anyone would want a set of wheels over 18" for a 4x4, it ruins the ride and handling - my friend had a p38 withh 22" kahns on, which he swapped for a set or hurricanes as is used to pull in the slightlest groove and track all over the shot, AND they had such little give...

    Converting BACK to electronic ignition

Yeah, the dizzy I got had the amp bolted on (I had to take it off as the car had RPI's A&R amp fitted) I'm not sure about a black and white wire, is that onto the coil I guess? As for the condensor leaving it on won't do any harm?

    Converting BACK to electronic ignition

My '93 RRC was converted to a points system at some point by It's previous owner. I have now fitted an electronic dizzy and coil and was wondering if there was anything else that I would have to change. I'm guessing I have to take out the condenser (sorry for being a noob here) is there anything...

Fishing and Rough Camping with a Landy

If you've got time then come up to the highlands. The north west coast is one of my favorites head up towards Skye, Ullapool, Gairloch, Durness ect. There's rakes of great places. Achnahaird is one of my favourites, it used to well known for being as close to rough camping as you could get...

Whats the ultimate Daily drive land rover?

Go for a RRC, much more comfortable and not as gay as a gaylander. If you want reliability go for a diesel variant or the 3.5efi ;)

3.9 - Turns over, no spark

Good news! (starter pack was goost, so just charged up the battery, such a noob!) Engine now sparks and there's fuel going to the cylinders - only problem now is, it doesn't start. It back fires (more of a pop at the exhaust) so I'm guessing the timing's out as the last dizzy that came out had a...

    for the petrol heads.

Super charger? :D mmmm juicy - How much, where and what engine do you have? I Presume you've beefed up the cooling a bit so what did you use? I would love to do that but it'll be single figure MPG all the way!

3.9 - Turns over, no spark

I've managed to get hold of a copy of RAVE and been through all 7 tests there's 11.7v across the battery but nothing across any of the points to the coil and no spark jumps from the coil - so that'd be the coil fooked. Odd as he coil has only done one mile, but hey ho I got a proper lucas one...

3.9 - Turns over, no spark

My '93 RRC turns over no problem but there is no spark from the HT leads and no voltage across the coil, the distibutor is new, as is the coil. One problem is that whoever had it at some point had put in a dizzy running points (don't know why previous one must've died and he got this one on the...

3 pins on dizzy, 2 on lead from coil?

I have a '93 RRC which I ordered a new dizzy for. When I took the old one out I noticed it had only a positive and a negetive terminal going into it. But my new one has 3, I have been led to believe the one in the middle is an earth - I have found I can get a convertor lead for 20 quid, but can...

    Defender a good first car?

In terms of insurance a defender 110 or 90 is the best as a specialist policy with adrian flux makes things alot cheaper, eg I'm 19 and had my license for a year aviva quoted me 2700 for my RRC, flux on the other hand quoted me 1493, however you have to be 19 for their policies, so it may be...

    Towing Rules and Regs?

Yeah I was thinking of just towing it as my mate dad runs a garage and if it's being towed to a designated place - that's ok apparantly. But only other thing is she's an auto and I've heard many people say don't tow an auto as the box over heats, it can turn the gear box into iron filings ect...
