    Diff Guard Fitted: Pics

Some more eye candy :D My new front diff guard fitted today. It is a galvanised one from Paddocks but I decided to paint it black to smarten it up a bit (Why is it that every time I buy a galvanised part from England the galvanising finish is so rough???) I got someone to lend a hand fitting...

    Pics of Dash Upgrade

Correct, I hadn't fitted it yet when I took the pictures as I wanted to show everyone what the cover looks like.

    Pics of Dash Upgrade

Hi Kwakerman, I did a quick search on the internet of those two part numbers and it looks like 346786 is the correct part no. - but I can't be totally sure as it looks like no one makes these covers anymore and there are very few pictures around. I found this on the LR Series site...

    Pics of Dash Upgrade

We all like pictures (at least I know I do :)), so I thought I would post a couple of my Ninety's dash as it has just had a few jobs done on it. Sorry the pics aren't bigger, I still haven't figured out how to do that. I removed a large bunch of wiring from in the dash a couple of weeks ago...

    It's a 1999 XEDi.

    Freelander Clutch/Gearbox Issue

I've been told that there was a problem with the gearbox in our Freelander where it made graunching noises going into first or reverse. This issue happened while some learner drivers in the family were driving the vehicle. However, the person teaching them then tried driving and the problem...

    cubby box ,,,, and bulletts

Unfortunately you've made the mistake of mentioning bullets in your question; you can see from the posts above what happens if you do that... Don't expect too many answers relating to your cubby box question :D

    Possible 110 rebuild question

Look more carefully at the webpage from the link - there are b pillars and side frames for 110s on there, like you were asking about.

    cubby box ,,,, and bulletts

I built my own cubby box since I live in New Zealand and shipping from the UK is expensive. I covered it with black vinyl and then added some aluminium angle on the edges. It is a slightly fussy job - I made cardboard templates for the vinyl to get the right shape. See the thread below...

    Laziest Piece of LR Design?

Now why would I try to purposefully break my Land Rover? I'm sure the interior is quite capable of falling to bits without any help from me. :D:D

    Laziest Piece of LR Design?

I always told first-time passengers not to grab it as I thought it wasn't a proper handle given that it seemed so flimsy. It wasn't until I saw an interior parts manual where it was listed as a "grab handle" that I realised what it was actually for. I'm still a little dubious about its ability...

    Laziest Piece of LR Design?

It is fantastic the way they built a shelf on the front of the crossmember where mud and other corrosive material can neatly collect as it spits up from the wheel

Help needed from owners of 90's or 110's

Thanks to all those who replied above. It seems that someone has given up on plastic clips in the past and decided to use proper screws on my vehicle. I am asking about all this as I just bought a whole lot of stainless screws to replace the ones that are in there now (some are getting fairly...

Help needed from owners of 90's or 110's

Right, so I ordered some plastic plugs part no. CZA4705L to replace some broken plugs in my door frames. These are the plugs that act as anchors for the screws which hold my door trims on. However, when these plugs arrived I found that the shaft on them was square, and not round as on...

    Laziest Piece of LR Design?

You forgot to mention that they stopped galvanising the bumpers so now they rot too :):)

    Laziest Piece of LR Design?

I have seen this video before. I remember being amazed at how bizarre and flimsy the design of the diff-lock mechanism looks. I have another niggle to add (it's rather a big one): Why didn't the chassis come galvanised standard? The prototype series ones had galvanised chassis, and if...

Hopefully all those members with rusted doors will be comforted by the fact that mine are (inexplicably) rust-free ;)

    Laziest Piece of LR Design?

Right... I'm bored :D so: What is the laziest piece of design on the Defender according to you? By that I mean those things that we call "quirks of the vehicle" but that really make us think: why did Land Rover not put in just a little more effort? I'll go first to show you how it's done...

110 galvanised chassis and bulkhead change

I had my chassis and engine bay steam cleaned before recoating the chassis with underseal. That way, all the dirt was removed and any rust could be spotted. There was a little patch on the rear crossmember that the garage welded up for me, but that was all we found which was encouraging. If...
