Freelander 1 Jatco auto gearbox problem

Time factor? Ignition off, fuse out, ignition on. 10 mins later and ignition off fuse replaced. So; if there is a back up it lasts a few minutes to hold whatever data there is, then it's lost. You probably wouldn't have noticed having the battery disconnected previously as there wasn't...

Freelander 1 Jatco auto gearbox problem

Interesting. When I replaced the fuse I heard a definite "click" for want of a better term so something was energised, ignition was off. Still changing perfectly. It's a 51 plate - does this make a difference? TF

Freelander 1 Jatco auto gearbox problem

Had similar on mine, have had fluid changed as well as solenoids, made some difference but still suffered with a harsh change. Pulled F4 and reset and now the changes are seamless, probably only covered around 200 miles but still good. Thanks for this excellent piece of advice, just...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Drove it over to the west Mids and back, just over 300 miles, filed it up twice: Gulp. Least I get Tesco points at Esso now. Didn't miss a beat.

poor customer service from rimmer bros !

Use Rimmers for my Freelander, ZT and MGB. Always found them brilliant. Maybe the guy had a bad day - cut them some slack and try them again.

Appreciate the replies guys, as I've still got a fair amount of tread on the tyres looks like I'll have to live with it for a while. TF

    Possible Noisey Diff

The, what can be best described as a droning noise, persists on my V6 Freelander. New VCU and GKN bearings some 4k miles ago now, the noise has not got any worse, but certainly has not gone away. I have Scorpions on with around 5mm of tread. It starts at around 30mph and pretty much disappears...

What have you done to your Freelander today

£120 plus the solenoids (there were two which he changed) both from Rimmers. I did look into doing them myself but following what Hippo showed and his advice decided against it; knowing my luck it would have all gone Pete Tong, which is just as well as it took best part of 3hrs. I think he drops...

    freelanderspecialist.com - FEEDBACK

Had my VCU bearings changed by them a couple of weeks back and will be going back there again on Wednesday for the gear box solenoids. I decided against trying to do it myself. They're really good and friendly. Have no hesitation in recommending them.
