It prevents the Nanocom smashing into the dash as it slides off the passenger seat. Cheaper to replace the headlamps and grill :D:D

No different to glancing at the instruments if you know what your looking for. Yes, it warns you a "nano" second before impact, clever bit of kit :p

Have you checked for wet carpet in drivers footwell ? If heater core o rings are leaking that would explain the slight water loss issue. My money would be on the thermostat jammed open rather than cracked block. Do as Wammers said and have a look at the plugs
