Its me thats poorly this time

Hey Rubberknees, all the best then! Have to agree, risking a fatal heart attack to increase the odds a little bit isn't worth it. Fingers crossed everything works out good!

Keeping my v8 at the right temp

One thing that helps as well as fitting an oil cooler. Mine has one, and worked quite well, even at 45 degrees ambient and some heavy work she never overheated. Well, the engine, the carbs are a different story.

    INTANK OR EXTERNAL FUEL PUMP

Can second what Hairball said with regards to the second filter, note to myself: add one as well. Mine, 82 RRC on dual Zenith carbs, has the external pump mounted on the left front inner wing. LHD, so it sits directly under the brake cylinder. This way she's out of the mud, and water and other...

3.5 V8 on carbs loosing all power at 2k rpm when hot, 3k when not

I have to check that... She's running for now, no idea why but I wont challenge her on that!

3.5 V8 on carbs loosing all power at 2k rpm when hot, 3k when not

    THAT would explain a lot...

3.5 V8 on carbs loosing all power at 2k rpm when hot, 3k when not

Earth problem, I think so... This damn facet pump also has all of one wire, which goes to the relay of this very interesting transistor ignition someone ripped out of a Jag XK8. Other than that the pump is screwed to the chassis, same front inner wing the battery earth attached to. The pump...

3.5 V8 on carbs loosing all power at 2k rpm when hot, 3k when not

Oh, and I'll replace the fuel return line. She has two bents that are new.

3.5 V8 on carbs loosing all power at 2k rpm when hot, 3k when not

So, we made it out of the desert, alive and not on tue back of a recover truck, we did some very mild offroading today. What is realized: The engine is comparatively cool, the carbs almost melted the snorkel tube. First thing I did was getting rid of the snorkel, that did wonders! I hit 6k rpm...

3.5 V8 on carbs loosing all power at 2k rpm when hot, 3k when not

Well, this seems to be a theme at the moment... My problem is the following: I took the old lady to Tunesia, already on her way down she had issues when hittin 2-3 k rpm when hot, e.g. stop and go traffic in plain sunlight. That usually went away when the arbs got enough air flow to cool down...

Yes, I mounted them myself. Finding and drilling the propper holes was the tricky part

    Classic Michelin XM+S244

If you go by thread depth any MT tire should have you cover for life, yours not the tire's. The 18 year old ones I replaced last year still haf as much thread as the new ones, the old ones were hard enough to not budge a bit when the pressure was decreased by a bar, from 3.5 to 2.something...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

You didn't, the unit arrived but the gear pever is missing. So I'll have to build my own, I did put on the list for this winter... No way I can get it done before the Tunesia trip end of May...

Its me thats poorly this time

Hey mate, sorry to hear that! Fingers crossed everything works out ok, also for your loved ones. It's hard enough for you, people close to you tend to be somewhat ignored so. I saw the same a couple of years ago with my now wife. Everybody worried about me and just assuked she's doing alright...

    Classic headlining

I ordered mine from Famous Four, glas fibre back and a nice beige trim. If that helps!

What did you do with your Range Rover today

So, finally took her on the second ride of the year yesterday, worked like a charm! But for some reason nobody fixed the leaky tank breather over winter... Also finally got all the parts for the refreshment c;ming up: new cam, new timing gear, new diff, new followers and push rods, new gaskets...

Classic LT95 Fairey Overdrive Installation manual - and Hints

Mine is completely refurbished (as refurbished as they go with all those obsolete parts in them, same for LT95s by the way) and went for 900 pounds. As I said, once it's installed, I could have easily swapped a completely rebuilt LT77 / R380 in it... Well, stupid me has something about keeping...

Classic LT95 Fairey Overdrive Installation manual - and Hints

Thanks guys! Just ordered it! It RHD, but the mechanics seem simple enough to mirror them to LHD. The tunnel appears to be spot welded at the rear between the B columns. Hopefully it's as easy as drilling the spot welds out and use some threaded rivets to put it back in... Considering the speed...

Classic LT95 Fairey Overdrive Installation manual - and Hints

Hi folks, the big day finally came, the elusive Fairey overdrive arrived! Fully refurbished at that! I fully managed to forget about the fact that for the price of the overdrive I could have gotten fully rebuilt R380 and have it installed. So, call me happy! :-) Regarding installation, I...
