    Day Time Running Lights

I want to try the disconnect battery route before ripping the becm out for investigation but I can't find my radio code at the mo (Blank in the handbook although the EKA code is there) The only real issue at the moment is the duff temp gauge, don't want to be running rich. Can anybody confirm...

    Day Time Running Lights

Sorry should have made myself clearer, dipped headlights come on in the off position not main beam. Main beam seems to be working as normal. There have been developments that seem to suggest all is not well with the becm. Reversing lights come on when in park position as well as reverse...

    Day Time Running Lights

No wet carpets. Air con drains clear and o-rings changed not long ago. Although I guess it's never a long time before it goes wrong again with these friggin motors!!

    Day Time Running Lights

Is there a country code in the becm that runs daytime running lights at all? If not then my P38 is experiancing one of those 'mad lecky' moments that only a P38 can suffer because both front and rear lights are on all the time when driving. They still flick between side and headlights on the...

    Door Micro Switch, Easy Job?

I've suspected the micro switch has been suspect on the passenger front door for a while now as the interior lights don't come on when it's open and the EAS is fully functional with the door open. Now the alarm has been triggered and it's showing as that door. For some reason my PC is not...

Any decent spares shops out there?

Have you got a good indy local at all? Mine has got me out the mire a few times in the past by having stuff on the shelf that I thought he probably wouldn't. But as he's quick to point out, they're Land Rovers so you can never have enough parts on the shelves!!

    Bought One - 2007 Supercharged

For 12 months your fine, the Land Rover warranty is top draw. After that you're on your own:eek: I should know bought a new Disco 3 many years ago and that went back at least once a month of the 36 I owned it:) They stuck me on their own insurance in the end as I was driving their cars more...

Refitting the air suspension, and getting rid of coils

If you're going original set up make sure nothing is in the way of where the valve block and compressor go on a Classic. In a box bolted to the underside of the vehicle. When I looked at going back to air suspension on a Classic, Arnott (who make gen2 and 3 air springs) where supplying an after...

How Long To Reach Running Temp On A V8?

Thanks for the info and a tuned TD5 gives me food for thought. A lot more choice available as well, although in some cases the premium to be paid over the V8's is a bit over the top.

How Long To Reach Running Temp On A V8?

Thanks for the replies. The P38's like most V8's I've owned have always warmed up quickly. I know it's the same engine I just thought maybe the coolant system was routed different or something. I guess it might just be a lazy thermostat. Once it got to temp is was fine, heater nice and warm...

How Long To Reach Running Temp On A V8?

Long time P38 owner who's looking at getting a Disco 2 V8 and using as a van. Bit of a petrol head so a proper commercial not on the shopping list. Had a drive in one today 2001 with 90k covered. All seemed ok but it surprised me how long it took to reach running temp. This is compared to the...

    P38 no response

Is it a good jump pack? I thought I had a good one but it could never start the P38 when the battery was dead flat. A proper jump start would give you more of a clue.

    Lucky Escape

What I'm hoping is he drives it for a bit to get some use out of his new gearbox, then gets the urge for a TDV8, gets offered £5k or less (they won't care it's got a new box). Then I get it for £5k or less;) I'm quite happy with my P38 and only a MK3 at £5k or less would tempt me away.

    P38 no response

+1 on this. Out of nowhere my last battery went from 100% to knackered without warning. Still showed over 12volts on the meter with engine off. Wasn't convinced it was the battery but was left with little choice but to change it. It took a further 12 months of trouble free motoring with the new...

    Lucky Escape

Had to the possibility of buying my mates 03 L322 Vogue V8 with 60k on the clock for £5k. It's what LR offered him in px for a TDV8. I was all up for it because I thought at that price I could knock it out over night for £5k if I didn't like it. Anyway he thought about it for a week, not about...

He put a new roof lining in and stuck £1500 on the price!! Didn't sell I think he made about £500 in the end. Had the chance of an L322 V8 60k mileage for £5k, its what they offered my mate px on a demo TDV8. He thought about it for a week in which time the TDV8 was sold. Just as well as the...

    Brakes - which make?

Delphi discs and ebc pads all round. Braking has improved 100% since fitting but that's probably down to a good bleeding as much as anything. The added bonus is ebc pads create far less brake dust.

Hello Mate. Alive and well. LSE has gone. Put it on ebay to test the water and sold it within 5 minutes of going live. Replaced it with a cracking Jag XJR, but I'm thinking of moving that on as it sits on the drive and goes nowhere. Filled it up with petrol 2 months ago and haven't put any in...

    Leggy TDV8 or a TD6?

I wouldn't say discard it. TD6 is still an excellent motor but old hat technology compared to the latest offerings. A TD6 at the right price is a good buy, but if it's similar in price to a TDV8 (even with higher miles) it's probably over priced.
