Yer i thought that, but would the gearing be changed to the extent that it would be no good off road? or would it just be at the point where you would be using 1st gear instead of 2nd for a lot of off road obstacles? Thanks Adam

hi need some advice, have a 300tdi manual disco, and currently have 235/75R16's fitted. They have an overall diameter of 28". I am looking at either 245/70R16 which are 30.6" overall diameter or 235/85R16 which have an overall diameter of 32". Will these tyres effect...

Whats better for off roading then a amnual or an auto??

I have a 300tdi 1996 and its amazing, no sill rot, no chassis rot the only thing was a rust hole in the boot floor which i welded other than that they are really easy and cheap to work on :)

I have just bought a rear diff guard and it bolts onto the bottom of the diff, does anybody know what thread the two holes are? i haven't got a thread gauge small enough to get into the holes :/

obviously there will be an exception somewhere, but tbh when i have been off roading admittedly not for long but i have never found any exceptions.

Im looking at getting some off road tyre and steel rims for my disco, its a 300tdi manual 5 door, the tyres i am looking for are 225/75R16's. My question is will these tyres effect the gearing ratios when i am off roading, will i notice or will it make any difference?

Ow it's a manual :) we went green laning in wales and we cane across a step along a rocky trail, the step was about 1.5 - 2 ft high and it was slightly up hill, so I was thinking would it be a 1 st gear job or would you need a bit of momentum to get up and over, also I have always used 2 nd gear...

I have just been watchig a video on youtube and i was wondering what gear to be in in different situations, as far as i was aware you only really use 1st gear low range when you are decending steep slopes and rock crawling, can anyone shed some light on what gear and when 1 st gear would be used...

Today i sold my series 3, and bought a 300tdi disco, now waiting upon the delivery of some off road protection and a suspension lift. Then i can go and get my 3.5 tone pf wood waiting for me at my fishing pond :)

I have a 300tdi disco and a 6m zodiac rib with a big Johnston 90hp v4 on the back and it tows brilliantly, well thats compared to my old series 3 :)

I am 17 in august. I have been interested in land rovers for many years and it was my idea to take my driving lessns and do my test in the landrover. It is a series 3 88". If im honest i wouldnt have any other car. :):):)
