    I'm off.....

Doesn't all the v8s have EAS which has plenty of it's own issues, don't know about the BMW build quality on the x5 as it comes out very low on the survey's. Anyhow everyone to thier own especially since I am contemplating a v6 3.5 Sorento, but have not decided as I do like my Rangie. Davie:D:D

This is a Range Rover. Sadly.

Yep, bloody horrible, looks like a squashed Freelander, come to that the Freelander looks much better and more desirable. Reminds me of when they used to chop cars when customising. Does not float my boat, ok for poncing around in the city centre. Davie:D:D

    I'm off.....

Latest survey I have seen has the Allroad, X5 and Range Rover as the bottom 3 for reliability, wonder what they all have in common ? Of course the CRV won but they are boring but probably as good as an X5 offroad. Davie:biggrin1:

    i have finally had enough!!!

Nothing against korean cars, my Dad bought a Terracan and its a much better car than the write ups suggest, feels like a modern version of my old Pajero with a much, much better engine, he went to buy a freelander and seen the Terracan and the rest is history. Its just the RR to Rio scenario...

    Magnatec @ Halfords £17.50

I read somewhere (I think) that if you use mobil 1 that it should be used from new as its so efficient at cleaning that it can clean out any deposits and sludge that was left and cause problems. Thought unipart oil was quinton hazel, I used autocare 10-40 semi last twice as it was on offer for...

Wammers post brings us to the dangerous territory of the EU dictatorship where all work will be done by dealer ships including servicing, see after last night that our politicians still have no balls where the United states of Europe is concerned, we may laugh but how long before we all run...

    spring conversion

I have no knowlege of any P38 being produced with coils, thought they all came out with EAS as the later classics was a test bed for the system, still I think its a better motor since I changed it. Where the EAS scores is on corrogations and thats about it. Davie

Well kooky if you know more than VOSA who am I to argue but my local mot station also said that coils will not affect the mot, if it does though she will be off to the scrap yard with lots of others I suspect as I will not re-enstate the EAS. Davie

Yeah I actually E mailed VOSA for clarification on the new rules, they told me that there was no problem as long as its a legal and recognised kit. Davie:D

As James said pretty straight forward, I did mine about 18 months ago, took a couple of hours. You will get a plug with a pig tail with the kit to plug straight into your Becm & that takes care of the electrics. Davie

    p38 2.5 lack of power

Only way I found out my pump was not working is when I did a long run and it went below a 1/4 tank then was a bitch to start, before that it was never below 1/2 tank and it ran and started perfectly. When I checked the pump it was dead, by the way I cut the access hatch but ended up dropping the...

Yeah, I did the same, good practice for all the cost, saves getting caught out with a foot of snow on the ground and the bugger not starting. Davie

    p38 dse

Cheers wammers, I was wondering if the nrv should be there especially as I have no indication of air in the system, last owner must have done it as he probably could not be bothered changing the in tank pump. Davie:)

    range rover diesel conversion

If you going to that hassle there are far better units than the mitsi one, ie the bmw one thats already fitted to the p38- smoother and more fuel efficent. Davie
