    Is LandyZone a Club?

If it's any help, the best definition I can find is this: An organization composed of people who voluntarily meet on a regular basis for a mutual purpose other than educational, religious, charitable, or financial pursuits. A club is any kind of group that has members who meet for a social...

    Rear indicator corrosion

Thanks for that. Have found these Land Rover Defender Rear X-Member Shields, Stepped Tub, GL12 which I might think about fitting. When I removed the indicator to re-fit I dug about a cupful of dirt out of its housing - but am glad to say that I have no rust to speak of.

    Rear indicator corrosion

Hi, Have done a search on this and think I have a solution, but jus need to check - so any advice welcomed. I am having an issue with my off-side rear indicator. This basically consists of a bulb holder which fits into the coloured cover, into which fits a plug which comes out out of the...

Is it OK to ask for charity sponsorship in 'anything goes'?

Hi, Did a search, which seemed to suggest this was acceptable, but just wanted to check I've signed onto the Cancer Relief "Dryathlon" and am trying to raise £1000 by abstaining from alcohol during January. I wondered if it would be OK to post this (with a link to my 'Just Giving' page) in...

    Nut and bolt kits

Hi- I bought a complete set from 'Stig's Stainless Fasteners' (Stig's Stainless Fasteners) which were great (and reasonably good value, I thought). Would recommend buying a few of the captive nuts in the doors, as some broke when I took them off.

Rebel 4x4 have been very reliable for me.

Tyres! Ha - No joke! :-D

Just for the record I bought Michelin latitudes about a year ago, as I had bought some second-hand aloys and the tyres on them were dreadful (and ATS were offering 4 for the price of 3). They are very quiet and were excellent in the snow (and fine for towing etc) and have performed well in...

110 County Chequer Plate - Advice

Unless you've already paced an order, I would recommend looking at Rebel 4x4 (Rebel 4x4 - Quality Land Rover Accessories at Discounted Prices-). Have bought 3mm wing tops and bonnet top from them and very good quality and good service. They do 2mm as well - haven't totted up total price but...

New lease of life - the benefits of 'lurking' on Landyzone

I tend to read a great deal on here, and not write much, but just wanted to reflct that this can pay huge dividends sometimes. A couple of weeks ago, my 90 TD5 (2002) suddnly died (in a most inconvenient place, just at th exit to a roundabout) with no warning. I managed to get it home...

    Low emission zone

It also depends on age - I have a 90 hard top classed as a light utility vehicle (and taxed as a light goods vehicle) but it was registered after January 1st 2002 so is deemed to 'meet the standard' for the LEZ.

    Steel Wheel Nuts?

I changed my steel wheels for alloys a few months ago and have a bag of steel wheel nuts with no home. If you wanted some (all of them) the only issue would be getting them to you. I could probably get away with putting them in a small DHL box if you PM me your address and tell me how many...

    Defender 90 purchase advice please

Hi, I'm nowhere near up to the level of expertise of some of the folks on here (some of whom may be choosing not to reply because you have not yet posted a hello in the 'Introduce Yourself' section - the perils of forum etiquette). However, from extensive reading of other people's posts...

    New vibration

Thanks - reckon I'll risk the journey then. Would love to be able to do more diagnosis but will have to wait until next weekend as I leave house at 5.30 in the morning and don't get back until 8.30 (work in London). Fingers crossed and thanks for the reassurance, James.

    New vibration

Dear All, Please do your best to not beat me up too badly (I have introduced myself, I have posted a very small number of replies on other threads and I have done a search which tells me lots of things but doesn't quite answer my question). I have a 2002 Defender TD5 with 101k on the...

    Spray-on Bed Liner

Hi, Don't know if this is any help but had some experience of using Protectakote as the floor of a boat a few years ago. The important (and probably obvious) thing is to get a really good bond between the coating and whatever it is being applied to. I bought a two-part epoxy primer which...

Anyone used this stuff to line their bed ?

The primer I used was called 'Duraprime' - available from the same company - DuraPrime 1 litre, two part water based epoxy primer, ideal for using with Prote Quite costly, but gives a good bond on almost any surface (or so it seems)! You really may not need it on a load bed, though, if (as...

Anyone used this stuff to line their bed ?

Very sorry - only addressed half the question. Looking at the link I wouldn't buy the kit - it's nearly double the price of a 4 litre can (and I reckon you probably only need 2 litres anyway). Buy the paint and then get your rollers separately. You could get away with doing the whole job for...

Anyone used this stuff to line their bed ?

Bought some to use on the inside of lockers in an old boat some years ago. It's very good and very easy to use (they will sell you a specific paint roller to ease things - needs to be foam not fibre). On the boat I sealed everything first with the recommended 2-part epoxy primer, but you might...

    Stainless screws/bolts

Just purchased a complete set of Stainless Bolts and Screws - bonnet, lights, door hinges rear tub etc, from 'Stig Fasteners' Land Rover £54 for the complete set, but they do the individual elements as well. Arrived promptly, in a handy box and were easy to replace - although I would...
