They look well on your 'old fender' - but I'm not too sure what you mean when you say 'you could see the panels through the arch'

Has anyone fitted these arches - is there any cutting to the wings required?

Just for the record - the mounting holes are spot on and fits perfectly but it sits out from the front panel about 2" more than the original and thats noticeable. Easily fixed with an angle grinder and repositioning mounting holes accordingly. The difference in length is not that noticeable.

Yes, your right 2" shorter - an inch each side is barely noticeable.
