    Engaging fwh for drive lubrication

Thanks for your all your replies, so no harm to use transfer box to drive halfshafts except for the risk of one shaft being stiff and not turning. If I may ask one further question following on from this? Does this mean that if I was to fit a an Ashcroft high ratio kit, I could use a gear...

    Engaging fwh for drive lubrication

Perhaps I didn`t explain myself clearly, what I meant was, as it is easy just to engage 4wd and allow transfer box to drive halfshafts and lube top swivel without the need to engage the fw-hubs, I could do it easily and more often. Just wanted to know if there was reason for not useing this...

    Engaging fwh for drive lubrication

Still trying to learn more about the beast, it has MAP type fwh and I`ve read that you have engage them every 100 miles for about 20 mls to lubricate the front swivels. As I`m not doing many miles at the moment could I not just run for the first mile or so in 4wd with hubs disconnected to keep...

Advice on Brakes- what direction to go.

Yes, if you apply the brakes and then release the pedal and reapply straight away pedal, travel is reduced. If pedal is released for 10-20 seconds pedal travel goes back to its original longer travel position.

Advice on Brakes- what direction to go.

Hi, need some input as to which way to go. Recently bought tax exempt 88" 1972 series 3 with 10" drums. Adjusted and bleed system but pedal still comes up on second stroke about 1/2" higher although it`s now firm on both applications. My theory is that the drums are worn and that because only...

Weber 34ICH Advice about choke please.

Managed to get a look at it today, the wire (c) was moving but not enough to raise the tickover. Reassembled linkage and it seems to work now. Not played with mixture as friend advised not much point as no airfilter fitted. Will have to source new one, tempted to go for a K&N as not much left...

Weber 34ICH Advice about choke please.

Thanks for info Dominicbeesley, will have a look tomorrow. The thing I don`t understand is what raises the tickover, but if it has got bits missing that would explain alot. I will try and find the colour tune that I`ve not used in years and check the mixture setting.

Weber 34ICH Advice about choke please.

Starting to work through some of the issues with my new series 3 2.25. It has a Weber 34ICH fitted and starts and runs Ok, but the choke doesn`t appear to do anything. You can start it from cold with little or no choke and even with the choke pulled the tick-over is not raised so you have to...
