hi guys - can the gearbox top be changed without removing the box - im looking to do this mod to my td5 i heard the r380,s all have difflock you just need to fit a 300tdi linkage is this correct ?? good to be back by the way :)

thought id better pop in here & say hi - ive now bought a disco td5 so im back in the world of landyzone - i have missed this forum & its great to be back stu from somerset

i have just bought a td5 disco & have recently come back to landyzone - will be looking to do the plain again once ive fixed my broken engine lol be great to meet up with some peeps off of here

sorry to jump on this thread but as immobilisers seem a common fault is there any way of removing ???

ok thanks for the advice mark - just trying to find a decent engine or maybe thinking of trying to find a complete disco with a rotten rear end ( mot failure )

thank you for your reply - i will post pics of the mess once i remove the sump - luckily im pretty handy with the spanners so hopefully it does not cost too much to repair i refuse to buy a recon engine & spend thousands - so if the worst comes to the worst i will buy another td5 thats rotten &...

hi guys / girls not been on in a while because i owned a bmw for a bit but ive bought another land rover - got a 2000 td5 disco this time bought it very cheap with a knocky bottom end i made the mistake of driving it & it has chucked a conrod end out through the sump :eek: will keep you posted...

Then thats whats causing it for sure guess it will eventually damage the ball

Just looked at a heavy duty clutch fork & thats exactly what we did with mine ( welded a piece if 5 mm plate on the outside the ball wont be pushing through that ) ball it pivots on seemed fine so thats me clutch sorted hopefully - whats next on the list lol
