I have found it, it's of a '86' D plate . Has 4 wires black ,red/green,brown/green and green. The plug has been replaced with individual spade connectors at some stage, it works but a bit noisy as been sat for about 3-4 years gave the motor a tap with the hammer and improved things so think with...

Get yourself to Bala 4x4 , great place there's mud,water some good inclines and rocks, and there's also the woods with a stream running through it that was very interesting last time i was there overall plenty to do ....

Cheers everyone for there input I am going to go along the route of thin wall cable, and I am going to run the wires internally in roof rack. For the sake of pence difference I am going to use 40 Amp wire and try running them with a 25Amp fuse. Will check back and let you know how I get on...

12v dc rated I thought . As you say I have also seen thin wall advertised but was dubious of 'thin walled'

I am in the process of making a loom for my roof mounted spotlights x 5 . My calculation is 5 x 55watts is 275 divided by 12 volts gives roughly 23 Amps. I want to use 25 Amp wire and have seen some 2 core .3 / 25 Amps wire my question is would you expect both cores to be 25 Amp or 25 Amp...

Not today but had my NEW set of extreme offset modulars fitted and then swapped my old disco steels for some spot lights then fitted those to my roof rack, last job done was to fit new steering guard which I got from Peterborough show knocked down from £60 - £45 as he had one with a mark on it ....
