Hi Mick Unfortunately, it doesn't look like a DIY job. Had one done and it cost me 1267€. However, it had a HG done, exhaust manifold gaskets, new screws, etc. The part itself costed 326,67€.:eek: You can see an exploded view here Cheers

Yeah, I agree with Credit. Doing a search isn't always easy since you have to know what you're looking for in the first place. Sometimes you may lack the words to describe the problem (although "beep" is pretty straightforward :D) And yes:

You should check the usual: Pipes and expansion tank for cracks (also the tank cap) I suffered (literally) from the same problem for over a year (only used 1 litre of coolant, though). Last week changed the water pump and everything seems to be ok (knock on wood:rolleyes:). Maybe...

Got the exact same problem with an auto 2001 TD4. The explanation given by a mechanic was that - since it was an auto - when the car is coming to a stop, the engine pushes forward, thus activating the ABS. Not really a problem, since it always stops on time :) Yes, and what the fook is...

Hi! I have an Auto 2001 TD4. A few problems due to some previous owner and dodgy mechanics' abuse. However it drives great and has never let me down :) I also have a Golden Retriever and it fits well in the boot. It can lie down, have its water bowl there, etc. Can't imagine two Labs...

Thanks Blippie! Seems like a good idea. I'll just wait until the front tyres wear a bit more, then fit new ones to the rear. I'm just worried about possible consequences for the transmission. The present difference in wear between front and rear is about 3mm.

Yeah. But at least it was better than my experiences (Freelander related) with non-LR "specialists".

Hello everyone! I've noticed that my front tyres are thiner than the rear ones (which look almost new) I've been thinking of rotating, but here's the problem: Rave manual says to fit new tyres always to the rear. I've asked a mechanic (LR specialist?) and the guy says to fit newest tyres...

Oh and replying to "what is that pipe for?" with fbh is a rather sensitive answer imho. It could have been much, much worse...
