    RF on eBay

My mk3 arrived today and has a green spot on it... If that is a genuine mk3 its a steal, but without pics of the insides its a bit of a gamble.

The 4.6 is stamped on the top of the engine, see here for details: http://www.roverparts.com/TechTips/boschvsgems.cfm

Yep, check that the suspension goes to all heights ok and does it quickly. I saw some that took almost a minute to go up when it should be more like 5 secs. Gems/Thor is the engine management. It changed over around 99/00 with Thor (motronic) being the newer version. Have a read of mez.co.uk...

Looks nice, those roof bars are worth a fair bit too if you're not fussed on keeping them. As for checking it out, just the usual RR stuff really - EAS, over heating, wet carpets in the drivers footwell, being the main things.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

With the help of a member on here I got my non-starting heap off the main road and onto my drive ready to swear profusely at the starter motor bolts on Saturday.

I wouldn't buy one from without seeing the internal circuit board.

My various bits & bobs have arrived so tonight I can get it shifted from the busy road where the flat-bed dropped it onto the drive where I can have a proper look. Before I remove the existing starter motor I want to check it is actually broken by forcing it to run directly from the battery...

    Key

I don't know about reattaching he button, but you can get the key fob cases on eBay for under a tenner if you do destroy it.

    RF reciever

I managed to find the latest version on eBay from P38-Parts. I checked the pic was of the actual item and they'd taken the cover off so I could compare it with the identification photo that's been posted here before. Should arrive tomorrow and was a lot less than £270!

Holy **** at their prices. They don't have them though and will presumably have to order it in from Land Rover.

They don't even have them listed on their website.

    RF reciever

Has anyone actually got one of these recently? I ordered one from paddock spares today and they've just called me up saying it's on indefinite back order with Land Rover and unless it's for an emergency vehicle they wont supply one. :(

Given that it won't turn over with the existing battery, the existing battery with a boost pack, the existing battery with another 800 cca battery connected or finally with the AA mans booster pack, I'm fairly confident that it is actually the starter motor that's kaput. Once it's home I can...

Diary of a first time Range Rover owner

Update time. AA man turned up and did a test on the old battery which said it was charged ok and putting out 500 cca. He then got his long metal pole out and gave the starter a fair few whacks while I tried to turn it over but no good. I'm currently waiting for a flatbed to come and recover me...

    P38 Work in progress

Nice looking car! How hard was it to replace the heater matrix with the Audi one? No o-rings sounds great, but how much of the dash did you need to remove in order to do it?
