Rebuild cars every day at work, get a bit fed up when doing my own!

Unfortunately far from mint but going through the bodges at the moment, dodgy wiring, cheap repaint, but new what i was getting myself into and is a 300tdi, which i have a spare engine in the garage for a rebuild later! 5 year plan to get her onto a galvanized chassis!

Been considering it for a while and found a Defender 90 for sale close by and couldn't resist any longer. Looks better than the Ford Kuga that was on the drive!

Hi Discool, When you say the obd is under the cubby box, do you mean the passenger side cubby box or the center cubby box between the seats? As i have hunted high and low for a obd socket on my car and have been told by a couple of landrover dealers that it hasn't got one!

Had the same problem when my airbag fell out of my steering wheel! No obd socket to reset so took the bulb out! Sorted.

I got one one knocking about that's stainless, got a few marks on it but its ok, I think theres pictures of it in my albums somewhere if you want a look.

I had a similar problem, turned out to be lack of grease in the swivel housing on one occasion and a knackered swivel bearing on another. Worth checking!

You can always roller 2 pack paint if you use a good roller! We put it on the concord at Duxford! A lot of the car trade roller the 2k primer as you can rub it down smooth so it doesn't matter if you have a few lines in it. 2K topcoat can also be flatted alot if you take your time and put a few...

Hi Rob, Cant you do a circuit test on the wires in the feed to find what one is earthing out as it sounds like you have a dead short to keep blowing the fuse? If you can identify the wire causing the problem by chasing it back from the fuse it would be easier to cut it off and run a new feed...

Try soaking it in wd40, I us an impact gun to drive them out by vibrating it in the hole. If you havn't got one u might have to drill it out!

Defiantly change the side panels and probably the support struts if your going to keep it. I changed all mine, even had to patch a bit on the inner wings, be careful of the fuel tank and filler neck and wire loom. But once done you wont have to do it again. replaced the fuel pump and pipes on...

Price will also vary on the product your using! If your using a single pack product like a synthetic or cellulose, then it would be cheaper, But if your using a two pack product it would be more money but a lot more resistant to scratches and wear! Then you also get different quality in those...

After doing the head gasket 2 years ago, the head has distorted pressurising the water system! Put a rule across the head and its got a nice gap in the middle! I must of cooked it well when I drove it home after blowing the gasket the first time! Has anyone got a good straight head I can buy...
