The rear was such a pain. Attempt one was done outside in the wind and it went terribly. Attempt two and i took the glass out to do it indoors but like yourself i messed up with the heatgun. Going to do attempt number 3 once i move house as it looks pretty terrible at the minute!

Satin black spray paint, wilko's own brand. £3 something per can :D Didnt want a glossy finish and thought matt would look a bit weird so went for a satin with a 30-40cm spray distance, gives a nice even coat as opposed to spraying too close and getting glossy patches.

I did exactly the same thing a couple of weeks ago for exactly the same reason. That thing was so distracting it was unreal. Much nice with it done, so much so that i'm tempted to whipe the whole dash out and give it all a quick whizz over with a rattle can!!!!

Lower tie bar has had a polybush fitted. Oddly the knocking started after i'd fitted the polybush. Didn't knock before i fitted it. Its the inner one, so it's splattered all round the pulleys/engine bay. Do i need to replace the whole driveshaft for the inner one?

Yeah, theres a reason its locked in place with plastic clips in the box though, having it come out will allow air into the system.

Plunger comes out, air goes in. Cant be bled so needs a new system.
