    New bearings for a vcu

Yeah I bought a britpart vcu new off ebay. It came with a receipt. Purchased and never fitted. The bearings were bearmach that I read were quite poor. I therefore am going to get rid of these and fit the new bearings to the vcu.

    New bearings for a vcu

Thanks. Should the brackets themselves be stamped GKN? I don't see any markings and would hate to think someone is pulling a fast one packaging them up in GKN boxes.

    New bearings for a vcu

Hi I have just purchased a set of new bearings for a new vcu off ebay. The bearings are GKN new in a box with FAG bushes. The brackets look second hand in that they are unfinished metal. The supplier was decent and phoned me to say some arrive painted and others not. Has anyone else found...

Recommendations for a new TD4 back box

Hi, I wondered if anyone had replaced their back box section on their TD4 Freelander? My Landy is a 2006 model and the exhaust a rusting damaged mess. I looked on ebay and there are numerous options from as little as £35. Has anyone bought and fitted these. Is it a simple DIY job? Any advice...

    Poor starting freelander TD4 (again)

Well, it appears that injector 3 was problematic. It's now been replaced and the car starts and runs like a dream. Happy days

    Poor starting freelander TD4 (again)

Great... Blue smoke coming out tonight when started from cold (not used for 24 hours). White smoke then blue when pressing the accelerator. Hopefully the garage will get it sorted or it's going back.

Hello from a new Landy owner

Hi guys Just picked up a 72000 mile freelander on a 56 plate on Friday. Delighted to be entering the world of 4 x 4 driving (although in honesty I have bought it for humphing my outdoor pursuits gear about) Looks like a helpful site. Cheers all

    Poor starting freelander TD4 (again)

Hi all, new to the forum and my first 4x4 purchased a few days back. I have read through hundreds of threads on the dreaded poor starting td4 engine, white smoke, then when it eventually starts runs fine if a little lumpy. Well I have experienced this already on my 72000 mile 56 plate...
