    Random not starting?!?!

Suspect it is a fuel pump on its way out, exactly how mine was before the pump in the tank died. Easy repair but £300 for part. Others say if one pump has gone, expect the other to follow soon...

    Wet roof lining...

Thanks for help chaps, will play this weekend - squirted a high pressure hose reel at it last night while at work and not a drop so I guess it was the duration of the rain and the angle the car was parked - but would rather fix now rather than in the winter! Not a sunroof model, will follow...

    Wet roof lining...

Went to the gaylander today and found the boot space sliding hiding thing had dribbles of water on it - opened the door to find the OSR roof lining ringing wet in the area that the top of the rear glass closes. Door glass opens and closes properly and nothing looks damaged so is it a dodgy...

    Driving licences

I can assure you that when I am cutting someone out of their car because they crashed or worse hit someone else I don't find it a lot of pish or ill informed snot - I'd much rather not be there at all. When they stink of booze it is something one notices.

    Driving licences

In the last year I have not attended a single RTC involving a younger person, say younger than 25. Most have been in the 40+ bracket (ok big bracket but relevant) and more often than not the person at fault has been drinking. My pet hate as a trained driver are the 40+'s who are so used to...

Hissing noise audible when TD4 engine is running - Any Ideas??

Turbo hose starting to split - top right front of engine (if you look from the front of the car), it is the large pipe with a 90 degree bend. mine started to whistle for a while then got really bad and split (plus lots of black smoke).

    Roverron Tuning Box!!

You are very welcome, although I was trying to help you out by offering to correct your posts prior to you posting them. Does 1 month make the difference between being a "noob" and not then? Or is the difference between being a being a "noob" and not only down to post count? If so is it...

    Roverron Tuning Box!!

Should be "You are" or "You're", not "Your", within the first and second sentence. Lttle is spelt "Little". "Too" when used in the context of "take no offence what so ever in what you say too or about me is also incorrect and should be "to". "Ignor" is actually "ignore". Just trying to...

    Freelander Appel?

I live in a town but needed something to tow for work and carry family and to be able to get me to the fire station no matter what weather. I like Discoverys but couldn't justify the size due to being a townie, there are to many idiots here in my town who insist on having a big 4x4! I drive a...

This will not cheer you up!

No, I'd say a report written by a lover of Japanese family cars...

This will not cheer you up!

I loved the bit about the indicator stalk being on the wrong side... For a country that drive on the left! Very funny read. Did anyone see the Wheeler Dealers/Auto Trader program where Mike Brewer dismissed all Freelanders because of the 1.8 HG being crap.

    Freelander Club

Nope, deliberate - just wondered if anyone would notice!

    Hardcore freelander

My freelander would be all but submerged if it had tried the same route as that disco, water over the bonnet of the modified disco = water well up the windscreen on a freelander.

    Freelander Club

There is a huge amount of knowledge out there from those that know Land Rovers so IMO to limit something to just Freelanders owners would be pointless - there are loads of pain loving, cold enduring weirdo's who just so happen to be able/willing to pass on knowledge gained by driving unreliable...

    Another knocking noise !

Check the rear silencer, the rear input side mount had snapped on mine so on some bumps it would knock against the underside/tow hitch frame. 5 mins with a welder and the knocking stopped.

    Upgrading my brakes

What is wrong with the brakes? What is wrong with drums? Drums work very well and don't fade the same way that disks do - useful on a heavier vehicle. Disks are very good on lighter or faster cars but on Land Rover, even a lighter one like the freelander I'd prefer drums on the rear. Try...

    Another tyres question...

Thanks - thought as much. New tyres going on the back - perhaps we should add this sort of thing to a freelander FAQ sticky at the top?

    Another tyres question...

Hi All, About to order a pair of new tyres to replace the worn front 2, I understand that we need to put new tyres to the rear on freelanders so intend putting the rears to the front and the new to the back - simple. However the chap (a 4x4 "specialist") I bought the car from said the minor...

    Increasing mpg- tyres/remove prop?

After I did my first blue light training course with my fire service I found my own driving changed and my fuel economy went up by an average of 8 mpg on my then BMW 525 estate. As I got further on in my career I was taught to drive more and more vehicles on blue lights including cars. The...

Spare Wheel Covers - Your designs.

I have my company logo and web address on mine - not exactly a style statement but then it is on a Land Rover so style isn't a high priority. I do like the idea of "push here", very apt! Was about £15 for the vinyl, fitted at a graphics place in Aldershot.
