    tools?

When buying ratchets my experience has been that the ratchet in the fore ground in the photo seem to fall apart fairly fast when used day to day. Normally the disc falls off and you loose the bearing's if you not careful. The selector type don't seem to give many issues but you want to watch...

    Dodgy repairs

I can get ya one of the wiring, to make things worse with the wiring it has been cut and twisted together right where it enters the chassis. Not much room to solder in some new section seeing the old stuff will be a bitch to solder with all the corrosion on it.

    My 110 rebuild

Alright this weekend I was able to get my rear wheel bearings replaced and new shoes and cylinders fitted. I flushed the diff housing out. Next weekend I need to get a new diff pinion seal to fix the leak. I gave it all a spray with black and reassembled waiting to fit the wheels. I have...

    Dodgy repairs

I thought this would be a good chance to share dodgy repair work you have come across on your Landy. This has come about as i keep finding little surprises all over my 110 as i work on it and come across previous home repairs. Normally you find the issues around wiring that people have hacked...

    tools?

I would of loved to have the income to throw at snap on when i was a mechanic but could never justify their prices. I still bought the odd tool off them that were worth it. I think just about everyone in the trade had snap on rachet screwdrivers as no other company made anything as good. Mind...

    Back end skipping

James is alright, at least he posts a reply when people ask for help. His advice has helped me in the past and grateful of it. If he works on land rovers day in day out i would put his advice first and foremost. I am a mechanic that has only worked for manufactures and would have to say if you...

    My 110 rebuild

I have had a break from painting the and have made a start on fixing some of the oil leaks and W.O.F (MOT) potential failures. I noticed when looking under the vehicle that the right side rear brake backing plate had oil stains on it. Yesterday I pulled the wheel and drum off to inspect and...

Radiator stop leak additives-Good or Bad?

as an ex mechanic must say it is disgusting stuff and a nightmare to get back out once in. Can lead to blocked heater and radiator cores. Kind of a band aid for an amputation. Best thing is just fix the issue that exists

Coach painting my 89 defender 90 any tips or pointers

I would not recommend painting metallic paint by hand. It will show up all the marks from your brush strokes. You really need to spray it. Single tone paint however must be fine to apply by brush as a lot have done it on here.
