If you can get a 6 sided socket on it with a small breaker bar or unloved rachet, try tap the bar/rachet with a hammer while you are pulling against it to undo the nut.

I dont really bat an eye lid at the service history, only thing I ever check is that it has been serviced at correct intervals using the right stuff. Oh and if fitted cambelts etc. I do all my own servicing and write in the book when and what I did at what mileage. Never worry about sticking...
