    Thanks everyone, I cleaned up both the battery and engine earths, checked the hand break which was OK, then took it for 35 miles with everything running to the max, and no heat on the hand break, so touch wood it’s all good again…:5bhurray:

    OK thanks robint thought about changing the braded earth cable on the battery just in case this was the issue, and will look at adjusting the h/break as well.

    Thanks uncle Albert, It was hot ouch, I could not hold onto it I don't think the hand break was on at all no light on the dash anyway. Would this be an earth fault on the hand break it's self

    Hi I have not long purchased a 95 discovery 300tdi, after driving today for about 30 miles the metal on the handbrake was hot to the touch? this is the first time that i have noticed it, and the only thing that i have done is replace the ignition barrel since I last drove it.... Has anybody else...
