    Engine identification 200Tdi or 300Tdi

Ooooh....thanks for the quick responses chaps!! :D I'll go and have a look and let you know. It'll be either happy bunny...or dangerous psychotic.

    Engine identification 200Tdi or 300Tdi

I've got myself in a state as I have just bought a 300Tdi...or so I was told. There is nothing I have on paper that confirms this and I've checked the VIN but I'm told from the VIN details it could be: "model 11L (200Tdi) or model 16L (300Tdi)" The VIN states it is a MY95 but it was registered...

Furry muff. Griff has been showing me the sights and it's coming together a bit better. Not an immediate project...need to get the interior sorted better first...but I'll definitely be looking towards an upgrade in the summer. ;)

Still not sure what is meant then. A smaller but more efficient IC should be a better bet...so I'm reading...and the IC has little effect on the boost pressure. 1.2 Bar in....hopefully as close to 1.2 Bar out as possible. Like a diving cylinder...it's a rigid shape so whatever pressure you...

    Which Intercooler

Ahhhh...gotcha. The Skyline Intercooler was £150. The boost gauges I've seen are significantly less...up to £30 but quite a few around £15-20. Been looking at gauges up to 1.5 Bar as I understand the 300Tdi generates about 1 Bar as standard and minor tweaks might give 1.25 Bar to 1.3 Bar...

    Landy Glow Plugs

What a bluddy good response and a fantastic tip! I raise my glass to you CharlseY. I don't have this problem but I will remember the solution(s). :)

Range! Not sure what you mean there Griffdowg...that's nowt new though. :o I thought that with the Nissan Skyline being one of them sooper fast cars with a turbo that you can alter from inside the cabin and deliver up to 3 bar boost...would have an IC that was about as efficient as...

    Which Intercooler

S'looking good. Cheers agin Griffdowg. Been mooching for a boost gauge on Fleabay just to see what's going on...and have noticed a Nissan Skyline IC going fer £150. I wonder if it'd fit??? ;)

    Cheers for that Griffdowg! :)

So...a simple drop-in upgrade for a shed-load of grunt?! Cooler than a Gucci freezer!! ;) Badlands. Did Allisport tweak the fuelling for you, fiddle with the boost or anything...or did you fit it yourself? Just wondering how difficult the job is too as I'm a hike from most tuners. :(

S'good to hear Badlands. What is it actually like in the running vehicle though? Notice any further lag or had any fuelling problems, MOT worries...owt like that?? Or does it just give a shed-load more grunt?! :D

    That's a fair point Slob...and why I went for BFG's in the end!! :o

    Cheap(ish) Tyres...BFG AT's

I've only just lost my LR virginity so I haven't been to the Billing show. :o But let's assume I'll be going this year and avoid the cries of "Heretic" and the flaying and the burning. :D Still, I'm Northern(ish) and close to Yorkshire, so I like a bargain...and I couldn't find anywhere...

    Which Intercooler

Been doing a little more mooching and better understand why there is a larger charge of oxygen in the cooler air from a better IC. It's because there is more air as it is cooler and therefore more dense. D'oh! Another thing I've picked up is that, as you may expect, a larger IC, being sat...

    Cheap(ish) Tyres...BFG AT's

I still dunno if it is the done thing to mention specific enterprises on the forum but I dunno how I can pass on what I think is good info without doing so. If I commit a sin...be gentle with me. Anyhoo...decided to get some new hoops for the 90 as the Insa Special Track's that were on were a...

    Nice car.

Feck me. That was a quick overtake of the other 4x4. I can almost do that...with a tailwind, on a downslope, if the other vehicle is parked. :o

    Which Intercooler

Hi Stig Thanks for the response. I hadn't really considered about the turbo needing to spin up to proper boost pressure first and if you make the fuelling a little richer for when it does I guess you would get a lot of smoke!! I guess it could also reduce performance when the turbo is not...

    Which Intercooler

Hey Griffdowg. From what I have read...and it is only read...a larger IC can /will provide a larger volume of significantly cooler air to the turbo. The larger volume of air will allow, with tweaking, a larger charge of air/fuel mix into the cylinders and a bigger bang, so more power and...

    Which Intercooler

Okies I've had a good look round at the threads and understand the pro's and con's of adding a bigger intercooler to my 300Tdi 90. I have seen IC's mentioned from Jeremy Fearns, Twisted and Allisport. The JF unit is most expensive but no bad rep at all. The Twisted is les expensive but...
