    Getting paint off rubber seals

Thanks for the replies. will be trying some of them out this weekend. I have also been told soaking them in olive oil keeps them supple, dont know about soaking them but I might try rubbing a bit on them, A bit of extra virgin if I can sneak it out of the kitchen......

    Air flow from dash?

As far as I know its an early dash panel, Pre 75, I had a look in my parts manual and that shows a panel like mine, not one with holes in like JC's and it does mention some parts changing in 75 but I had no pics of one post 75 to compare it with. I dont know about big holes looking nice but if...

    Air flow from dash?

Just been looking through Jonny Curts thread again and noticed a picture of the Dash http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n554/johnny19811/DSCN1113.jpg Compared to mine Obviously need those 3 big holes cutting in! Or has anybody got a better idea? Malc.

    looks well

The winch looks good. Looks like a PTO driven one. What with that and an overdrive... Still a bit pricy for something with no MOT though.

    Getting paint off rubber seals

I have come to fit my bulkhead vent seals but they have a few different colours of paint on them, Does anybody know how to remove the paint without wrecking the rubber? They are not glued in yet as it will obviously be easier to do anything with them before hand. Thanks. Malc.

    Classic looking off road tyres

Hi and welcome I used to run a set of Colways on an old Disco They were quite narrow so would have a look of something classic-ish. You dont mention wether yours is the 88" or the 109" so sizing is tricky. I cant find the ones I had but these look close:- 80/20 Open tread pattern with go...

    Painting my ExMod

Dont know the brand but yes thats the etch primer. As somebody has already mentioned follow that with some high build primer to smooth out any scratches or dints, with a rub down with a block sander inbetween coats. Do you know the story with the bumper over-riders? It looks like there are...

    Fault Finding Clutch

If I remember right the thing to do is try starting it in gear. probably what has happened is the clutch has stuck to the flywheel, This can happen if its been stood for quite a while. You can often wrench it off by starting it in gear. Malc.

    Air flow from dash?

Yes. If you click on the bit that says "the full project" It should take you to them. The colour came about by accident, I was under the assumption that aircraft blue would be more like the colour that the forces used to paint aircraft. I for one have never seen an aircraft this blue! Enjoyed...

    Air flow from dash?

On my landie I have an early dashtop but not the air vents for it. I acquired some post 75 air vents which are a lot smaller, just the bit for demisting the screen. Not a problem I thought, just fill and cover the larger holes and fit later type vents... This all went quite well...

    Wanted rover ron for td4

I found it cheaper to get a remap done. Not so easily detected either. mine was on a rover 75, its the same engine, boosted from 116bhp to around 150 with around 10% economy boost into the bargain.

wot is the law regarding sitting in back

Definitely illegal in the back, No seats = No passengers. But the front depends on the age. If seatbelts were not originally fitted, but the seat was, Then its OK. I cannot remember when the law was changed to make the fitting of seatbelts compulsory but if your motor was registered before this...

    Bulkhead swap

It might be worth getting a couple of quotes before discounting the galvanizing option. You might be pleasantly surprised. I saw a post on one forum saying the chassis was only just over the hundred pound mark and the bulkhead it a fraction of that. I seem to remember the price goes on weight. Malc.

    Heater blower

I am having problems finding a heater blower/ fan for the series 3. Does anybody know of a suitable alternative? It is one of the parts missing when I brought the motor as a rebuild project. As I see it the original is only really a fan in a piece of duct so any inline fan would do. So has...

    Air filter question

Sucking the air through the oil takes some doing. Sucking it through a piece of paper is a lot easier. More air into the engine makes a bigger bang and therefore more power. So in theory you should do more mpg but you will definitely have more bhp.

    IVA hybrid question

If you need more inspiration for an 100 inch the was a TV programme called "a 4x4 is born" you might find it on u-tube very good watching. It didnt go into enough detail on a lot of points but very informative on lots of points. Malc.
