Hub removal causing swivel oil leak

Ah... yes I did undo these to get the caliper off and only replaced finger tight. If that is what caused the leak do I still need to replace seals or can I just put one shot in and put everything back together?

Hub removal causing swivel oil leak

Thanks, turning into quite an involved job and forking out for all sorts that I hadn't expected to just to do the brakes so thought best to check! Happened on both sides too which made me think I may have got it wrong somewhere.

Hub removal causing swivel oil leak

So I started one of those 5 minute jobs yesterday that seems to be rapidly snowballing into something else, and I just want to check with those wiser than me that I am on the correct course. I needed to renew the front brake discs on my 90, so started by removing the calipers, and then the...

    Military defender 90 help required!

I'm not an expert on these things but your looks after market to me. Especially as that looks like a civvy FM radio at the top of the picture?

    Military defender 90 help required!

oh dear... No hazards doesn't affect my ignition, i don't have a rear heater either. My convoy light setting is on the dial in the centre of the dash. The actual convoy light itself seems to be missing from underneath the truck, but it does stop any other lights coming on when it's on CONV...

    Military defender 90 help required!

Sorry, first defender and the Haynes manual doesn't seem to cover this door style. I've just had a look and assume you're talking about the vertices holes in the window channel and the gaps in the rubber seal between top and bottom halves on the outside? If so the army had helpfully painted...

    Military defender 90 help required!

Ok, so i've done some investigating for the water leak causing this: and the water appears to be coming from the window channel through a seam rather than from the rubber seal between the door halves as i initially though: I'd appreciate any views on how to deal with this. Is there...

    Military defender 90 help required!

Thanks, yes both on order from flea bay, I'm just being keen! There is some rust in the foot well, and also on the bulkhead where the bottom of the dash is mounted, so hammerite is currently working it's magic. Are the door seals the same as the civvy ones? Is there an alternative supplier to...

    Military defender 90 help required!

Thanks for the replies, understand the convoy lights now. I do have an indicator stalk with what looks like main beam, but this operates rear fogs at the moment instead?

    Military defender 90 help required!

Evening folks, I've just taken my second plunge into the murky world of landy owning by getting hold of an ex-army 2.5NA 1986 defender 90 FFR. Whilst I'm waiting for Swansea to register and provide a nice new registration number I thought this is an ideal time to really inspect the old girl...

    Rust and tears...

Well today's efforts haven't been quite as fruitful as I had hoped. My new winch bumper arrived yesterday to much excitement, so today was "working from home" so that I could crack out the toolbox and get fitting. Now as mine's a v8 I know that to fit a standard winch bumper the oil cooler...

    Rust and tears...

I hear what you're saying, and I was originally looking at yrm parts. This kit contains more panels tho, is pre welded together and cheaper! Will quality be that different?

    Rust and tears...

ok, I have tried the search function and the tyre fitting guide so please don't throw things at me... Whilst working out what to do with the rust, my new (well, 2nd hand) wheels and tyres arrived. 235/85/16 insa turbos on steel wheels. I'm ready to do the camel cut etc etc, but someone asked...
