this may be a daft question as i am a numpty , but if you do away with your bonnet release cable and fit pins doesn't it make it easier for theiving chavs to get into your engine bay ? or are you relying onthe underbonnet alarm switch ?

i have an MPI ( ok jump on and tell me i'm a coont for buying one ) it's an all rounder , work , skip run , trailer puller , greenlaner , school run etc it does most things a proper discovery would do ...it just does 'em slower !

thanks for the replies , i don't have a nato hitch yet but i want to buy a sankey so will need one , someone on another forum said a nato hitch will bolt onto the discovery heavy duty bumper so i am looking for info on that at the moment ...

i wanna fit a nato hitch to me disco 1 but still keep me original tow hitch aswell , i read somewhere that the nato hitch will fit higher up above the original ... me question is what the fook do i attach it to ? has i got to get a new bumper or can i get some kinda adapter plate or somethin ...

it could be the splines worn on the transfer box , its quite common , mine has it too , later models were fitted with a cross drilled bearing or something for better lubrication to solve this problem . i'm sure someone that knows knows more than me will be along shortly ...
