    Useless locks

I had the same problem as you. The dirt, salt & other rubbish gets into the mechanics of the lock. All I did was give it a very good dose of WD40 ( two years ago) and it has been fine ever since.

    Hub bearings ???

whilst you got it jacked up and spinning place your hands at 12:00 and 6:00 on the wheel and wiggle it in a rocking motion backwards and forward toward you and the vehicle . Serviceable bearings generally allow slight movement. Anything more (5mm or so)will require retightening the bearing...

defender Grinding noise- Help me home

also check the condition of brake pads too, I wouldn't drive it until you have a look (maybe a few miles to a garage) you could make the problem worse.. ie. bearings braking and damaging the stub axle or hub = more cost to you!

Strange "onk onk" noise. Any Ideas?

have you double checked your rear wheel bearings? Jack the wheel in question up (offside) and then place the vehicle safely onto a jack stand. Spin the wheel as fast as you can by hand in order to listen or feel--through the sidewall of the tire for resistance or excessive noise such as...
