    LandyTheft Database....

Thanks for the feedback - similar databases already exist all over the net - Like i say, you have to be behind a computer to use them though!

    LandyTheft Database....

@Storm, Again, vauge locations is the way forward - See where you're going with that one though... Thinking about the structure the database would prob need the following info to be effective: VRN Landy Type Model Colour Distinguishable Mods Whether or not its listed as stolen first part of...

    LandyTheft Database....

@MadHatMan, Correct on both counts, however, what advantage does the thief have from knowing that the owner has discovered the theft, and secondly, for any location information i'd probably be looking at first part of postcode or similar? It doesn't make sense to store a highly accurate...

    LandyTheft Database....

False plates will fool the plod no probs, so that's not really something I'm going to address all on my lonesome! Plod make use of various databases to compare the VRN to, as this is going to be a relatively small database, in all likelyhood a SMS to the database with the details of a false VRN...

    LandyTheft Database....

Hi Paul, As i see it there are two uses for this: 1. To text the database the reg number of a suspicious landy. 2. To alert other registered users in the local area to that fact your landy has been nicked. As there are no links to other databases then there will only be information held on a...

    LandyTheft Database....

Alreeet Chumps, tis me again, Landy Crime Fighter of the North. I've been thinking, again, about the wandering rovers, and I think some kind of database may be the answer. Know, I've seen twoc.co.uk and the LandyList (or whatever it's called) and think both are lacking something. The Po-lice...

Hi, I was looking through ebay and noticed this; 1986 LAND ROVER LR 90 4C turbo csw tax exempt on eBay (end time 27-Jul-10 12:08:42 BST) if it's on a replacement chassis does that mean it should be Q-Plated and probably not tax exempted like it claims to be?? Bit confused after the epic that...

    Cheaper GPS Trackers (DIY!)

Hi again, those are both perfectly good ways to go but are not GPS trackers, they will only triangulate your phone position. Here's the link which i've been researching: Interfacing an AVR controller to a GPS Mobile Phone

    Cheaper GPS Trackers (DIY!)

I'm chatting to the developer about that, it's do to with programming the chip to respond with the GPS coordinates etc... It's unlikely the chips in phones are able to work in this way. The chip able to do this is a TELIT Chip and is by far the most expensive component of the parts required

    Cheaper GPS Trackers (DIY!)

Thanks -Which bit do you like!? Looking at the parts, it could be put together for £100 each or much less if the parts were in bulk then the running costs would be the cost of a PAYG Sim Card (often free) and text messages when you wanted to know where your car was. Having said all that...

    check this out.

"Deleted Ebay" Lol, nugget! Mrs Not-happy/clever/honest - It certainly does appear that the car is a 90, therefore made much later than 1965.... You may claim this car is from 1965 to avoid paying road tax but could you also tell us..... Is that a tax disk holder in your windscreen??????

    check this out.

Interior pics suggest it's a 90, unless someone went to town on the update! Interesting that the "Defender" badge on the bonnet has been hidden / removed...
