    Thor V's Gems

The Thor is said to be down slightly on overall power but up on torque especially at lower revs compared to the Gems. More low down torque is exactly what the Range Rover needed. I'm actually a bit frightened to floor the throttle from a standing start too often in case I bugger the gearbox...

    A none Range rover Question

Get the plastic spigot rings. Metal spigot rings I had gave me soooo much grief. They corroded a bit and pretty much made removing the wheel impossible. Changed them to the plastic type and no more issues.

    Why on earth? fog lights

That episode was on again last night, I just couldn't watch it again, they annoyed me too much, telling me to ensure I bought the correct parts for the car, ensuring I was careful about model year chnages, then watch them fit the wrong model year parts.......and drive off with mis-matching...

    Thor V's Gems

I have a '99 4.6 Thor, and had a '98 4.6 Gems. Although ownership was 3 years apart, from how I remembered the Gems, my current Thor is much more responsive, especially from a standing start. MPG wise, the Gems would give an average of 13.5 and the Thor is about 14.5. This is the average over...

    No Power

The Braemer was a limited edition special, there will be no wiring diagrams available, don't think even the Dealers were issued with any for these specials. It's gonna be a labourious task of tracing the wires back until you find where the fault is. My guess would be the inverter, but could...

    HEAVC Faults

Watch out for the solar sensor fault. I have the Blackbox MSV, it was giving me this fault, but after buying a new sensor and not curing the fault it turned out to be transposed with the heater core sensor, changing the sensor clipped to the pipes near the O-rings cured the fault. Blackbox...

    Will L322 18" hurricanes fit a P38?

Bit late I know....... You can easily tell the early L322 Hurricanes from the later versions by looking at the little extra holes in between the road wheel holes - the earlier 2002-06 wheels have little holes all the way through, the later 2006 on wheels only have dimples.

    Remove dials of dashboard???

L322's suffer from pixelated faulty dash displays which entail a complete instrument cluster strip down to repair. Known fault on the 2002 on Range Rovers.

fcr not reading edc on 2.5dse

I believe the FCR has all the modules built in for a particular car and will lock itself permanantly to the first VIN it's used on, so it should have both doozle ECUs already loaded. If you still can't communicate (ign on, engine doesn't need to be running), then first check on the BlackBox...

    Remove dials of dashboard???

I think Stefan is refering to removing the instrument binicle from the dash? Check Rave for the instructions.

    Tyres

The book states 55 profile tyres on 18" rims, I know some people do run 60 profile but this appears to be tyres already fitted to later 18" rims from an L322 then put onto their P38. You should really be running 55s. A 60 profile if fitted to the spare wheel won't go in the spare wheel well...

    Broken Remote Keyfob

If the sticker hasn't fallen off. I don't know of any other way to tell the fobs apart except from superlocking the car then seeing which memery position the seat returns to, mem 1 or mem 2 to the respective fey fob. Keys 1 and 2 would have been supplied from new, keys 3 and 4 won't set a seat...

    Tyres

You haven't stated which car you have, P38 or L322? A P38 with 18" rims should have 255/55R18 tryes, the L322 I think may be 60 profile. I have just fitted 255/55R18 General Grabber AT to my P38, don't fit the AT2, they are an older design and by now should be unavailable. The...

Can't you post a new thread in the How To and copy your info from here? It doesn't look locked?

    Exhausts

Wammers - what's the current regulations concerning cats? I don't have the latest MOT testers handbook. Does it state that if cats were originally fitted they have to be there? And does a comprehensive list exist for reference?

    Hello.

I have some of the specialist tools too, so give me a shout should you get the car and need to "tinker"! Unfortunately my diagnistics, a Blackbox Solutions Faultmate is locked to my VIN, but at least I can show you what it can do, again should you need such a device, which lets hope you won't...
