    Aaargh! Hub bolt missing!

No wonder the toe-rag didn't tell me about it!

    Aaargh! Hub bolt missing!

Thanks guys. Iv'e been soaking it in 'Plus Gas' and will try the easy-outs. If I do have to take the hub cover off is there anything I need to look out for like springs under compression or loose bearings to catch?

    Aaargh! Hub bolt missing!

Thanks langers. I will give it a go. I have some cobolt drill bits and an easy-out set so I should be ok. I'm just cheesed off that a recent purchase is revealing things that a gentlemanly e-bay transaction would not have hidden. I also have some moleys and stillsons too!

a bit on the expensive side?

Its a bit 'pimped' but someone will buy it and probably never go near mud. It takes all sorts!

    Aaargh! Hub bolt missing!

Thanks guys. It drives fine without vibration and Langers, it appears that you are spot-on. There appears to be a shaft in the hole. I guess some wan**r has sheared it and not been man enough to own up. I go off road with dogs and guns twice a month so I will get the 'easy-outs' out!

    Aaargh! Hub bolt missing!

Hi all and merry Boxing Day. I have just swapped the Boost alloys on my Td5 for some modular steels and Insa Turbo Dakar tyres. I'm not going to get bogged down by tyre pressures (30 front, 35 rear for me) or torque figures (140Nm does me) but I do have another question. When I took the front...

    rev counter td5

Top Job Paul and I eat my words about needless accessories now! I guess LandRovers are ripe for accessorising an any way and your rev counter is great!:)

    Adding seats to a 90

I have fitted the seats! Two inward facing, fold-up benches went in a piece of cake! The seat backs attach to the side walls and only four holes needed in the wheel arches. I wet-assembled them with zinc chromate primer and they look great. No seat belts though. I recommend inside-out 4x4...

    rev counter td5

Tuning? TD5? The RPM is directly linked to road speed so sticking to a suitable speed locks the rpm. I'm definately missing something as I've run a TD5 since 1999 and I know my MPG and I know what it's up to. The TD5 works well, does a good job and lasts a long time! I thrives on a good...

    rev counter td5

Why?! Why fit a rev counter? It won't help performance and will only add clutter. Why not fit a boost guage, an oil pressure guage, and inlet vacuum guage and an oil temperature guage? We don't need this stuff anymor. The EEC looks after you these days. Maybe I'm missing something!

Bought two benches! £80 the pair! Just got to sneak them past the wife!

They look good thanks SH but the benches appear cheaper and cheaper is good at this time of the year!

Ahh! There it is! I had a loose knob on my keyboard! (Yes. I was that knob!)

    Adding seats to a 90

Thanks Mikey. I'm looking for clues with regard to seat belts from MOT lists. Mines a 02' 90 so I may have to invest in lap belts.

    Adding seats to a 90

I did do a search and found that apparently seat belts are not mandatory for inward fitting seats. This sounds great to me. Thanks Station House. Benches appear simplest for my needs (Occasional passenger/s, dog and shotguns) and thanks for the 'top tip for spreader plates.

    Adding seats to a 90

BearDY89 you must tell your insurers or risk voiding your insurance completely. There is a young man in Luton who's Corsa was written off. When the assessor spotted that he had fitted alloy wheels but not told them they flatly refused to compensate him. The car was on HP and he is still paying...

    Adding seats to a 90

Can anyone advise me on the legalities of fitting seats to my 90. There are many seats available out there but the legalities are a mystery to me. My 90 (County) is registered as a 'Light Goods Vehicle' and currently has no seats in the back. I need to fit a couple of fold-up seats to carry...

    New boy (Sort of)

Thanks for the warm contact Jai. Tomorrow may be a bit soon as my wife is a midwife at the L&D and is on a night shift and escape might be a bit awkward! My defender is fairly standard so might not be up to your level of off-roading yet but my Disco did well a few years ago so I am interested in...
