What have you done to your Landie today.

Drove it to work and back! On the way home some young spunk trumpet in a chavved up astra decided he was going to cut me up on a roundabout. When he realised I was'nt going to yield he changed his mind and jammed the brakes on. The look on his face while his female passenger (Probably called...

    cb radio feedback

You might think its quiet but the amp hears everything and feeds it back

    cb radio feedback

The same thing happens with hearing aids if you hold them in a closed fist! It hears a noise and amplifies it, it then hears the amplified noise and amplifies it again and again until all you can hear from your fist is a squeal!

    cb radio feedback

And yes FK. It is called feedback as it is fed back to the amp and reamplified every time. The internal speaker will be inhibited during transmit. As soon as you key the mike the internal speaker is automatically muted unless it has a 'sidetone' facility so you can hear what you are saying...

    cb radio feedback

When you transmit your speaker plays what you are saying, this is picked up by the mike which sends it to the aerial via the amp. This is played through the speaker which is picked up by the mike. This cycle goes on many times a second and each time it is amplified a bit more until it becomes...

Fitted locking wheel nuts and mounted my spare back on the door so my dog can sit comfortably in the back again (its a 90)! Also cut some of that sticky matting to fit the dashboard and the cubby box to stop my flat-cap sliding off!

    EMS Fault Light!

Bill at Autoland plugged his diagnostic kit in and it told him there was an EGR fault. It has been reset but if it returns I'm looking at an EGR Valve replacement.

    EMS Fault Light!

Had the Disco MOTd and serviced Wednesday, took it on a 250 mile motorway journey Friday and yesterday the bloody EMS Fault light lit up and won't clear. The handbook states; "Avoid high speeds and consult your authorised dealer as soon as possible" I've tried searching threads here and not...

    Latest recall

Just had a letter through the door from Hadley Green suggesting my Disco may need a service recall. Anyone got any ideas what this may be for? They are after my VRN & Chassis number to check whether I need the recall.

Newbie with bonnet movement help needed please

I have drilled the slots out of the cross-heads that hold my raised heater intake on. It would take an opportunistic thief seconds to whip it of if I didn't. If I need it off I just use a set of left handed drills and put new fasteners on. Not much of a security method but evry likkle helps as...

    Pressure in the tank...

My 110 used to do that cos' the vent tube that runs down the side was crushed while off roading. It shouldn't of happened to mine and wasn't normal!
