The same thing happens with hearing aids if you hold them in a closed fist! It hears a noise and amplifies it, it then hears the amplified noise and amplifies it again and again until all you can hear from your fist is a squeal!

And yes FK. It is called feedback as it is fed back to the amp and reamplified every time. The internal speaker will be inhibited during transmit. As soon as you key the mike the internal speaker is automatically muted unless it has a 'sidetone' facility so you can hear what you are saying...

Just had a letter through the door from Hadley Green suggesting my Disco may need a service recall. Anyone got any ideas what this may be for? They are after my VRN & Chassis number to check whether I need the recall. :confused:

I balanced (Well, Kwik fit did) the wheels on my Defender. Wow! What an improvement. Carrying a lot of lead on some wheels now!

I have drilled the slots out of the cross-heads that hold my raised heater intake on. It would take an opportunistic thief seconds to whip it of if I didn't. If I need it off I just use a set of left handed drills and put new fasteners on. Not much of a security method but evry likkle helps as...

My 110 used to do that cos' the vent tube that runs down the side was crushed while off roading. It shouldn't of happened to mine and wasn't normal!
