    Best battery replacement procedure

Can't risk that I'm afraid. That would leave absolutely no one to cross their fingers and have a finger spare for 999 on speed dial.

    Best battery replacement procedure

I have the EKA code, it worked some months ago, I also have my parish priest coming over, some guy from the masons, a medic, a lawyer and someone to take on my chickens just in case the worst happens. My wife is taking the day off work just in case, we've charged the battery in her car and...

    Best battery replacement procedure

After a few months of having to keep my 4.6 plugged into a charger overnight to ensure enough oooomph for starting in the morning, I have taken the (long overdue) plunge and bought a battery big enough and powerful enough to fire up a steam train. Rave tells me to turn the igntion to position...

    Petrol - warm starting problems

Another thought- this all stared immediately after I refuelled and I had a strong 'blow-back' of fuel as I was filling. Any connection? Will have a look under the bonnet if it ever stops raining.

    Petrol - warm starting problems

Just started having problems starting from warm. Will start on the button from cold (if I remember to charge the battery each night), but yesterday it refused to fire up after a stop of only ten minutes. It turned over OK, seemed to be coming into life if I 'played' the throttle, but in the end...

    4.6 Belt Tensioner Pulley

Yes my friend, the tensioner is spring loaded. Put a 15mm socket on the pulley bolt, ease it to the right to release, replace belts etc and ease back to the left to take up the tension. Don't forget we're here to help - we were all novices at something once.........

    Viscous fan tool - 32mm?

I've never tried it, but a guy from a LR dealership told me that if you attach a spanner/socket to the belt tensioner, up the tension and whack the coupling nut - it works.... For what its worth, can't see it myself as the viscous coupling isn't held firm by belt tension

Favourite place for mice in P38?

Get them buggers before they start nesting and breeding. They started to 'harvest' the padding in the sound-proofing under the bonnet and somehow get it into the cabin. If you get the parents but leave young ones in the heater ducts and they die, you will get a lovely smell in the cabin as they...

Favourite place for mice in P38?

Years ago I had mice in mine. They got in from refuse sacks that I had to ferry once a week from our shed to a collection point. I first noticed the foil around my mints getting nibbled away although I must have eaten a few before I cottoned on!!!!!! Couldn't find the buggers for weeks until...

    Air pressure for Grabbers

Within the small ranges of tyre pressures that are generally discussed on this board, none of us would have any problems with a slight variance in tyre pressures to those specified by LR. For a start, the air pressure meters at most garages are out (by 6psi in my case as I found out recently)...
