Just be careful on the seats if you go down a station wagon route. A new (post 1997) driver needs a minibus licence for anything over 8 seats.

So modifying the inside of the back door seems the way to go? Is it just a case of a thick aluminium plate being bolted in? Or is it a big case of ali welding and whatnot?

It could be a money pit. Its been stood for ages - but at least its been inside. Have a look at the chassis, the outriggers and the bukhead. Landrovers are big meccanno sets, but theres no point buying an expesive vehicle identity and a rolling rot box/scrap pile. Whats the price on it?

It cant go on the bonnet or on the bulkhead. The bonnet has big fire hoses on it. The bulkhead is full of other ****. Looks like the spare will stay at home, or get wedged inside the back door somehow.

I know most people have swing away spare wheel carriers.. But if I mount the wheel direct on the door, how long will it take to knack the hinges or the door itself?? Ive heard of doors buckling, them cracking, and hinges failing.. Are these thins really happening or is it scaremongering? Cheers

Bit of tar and glue remover after to remove the sticky marks, and dont bother putting them back. They look pants at the best of times, but aftermarket ones put on remotely dodgyily look fooking ****e.
