    Edit: 19j to 300tdi not 200tdi. Sorry.

Just had a look through the parts list and it says nothing about engine mounts. Starting to think this is what I am commonly calling 'Jason engineering' seems everything I look at has been bodged within an inch of it's life. (Wish i'd taken pics of them all). Hopefully it will drop straight...

    Edit: 19j to 300tdi not 200tdi. Sorry.

Came out a 90 I think. Having a look at the 19j mounts compaired to the 200 they look completely different. Wasn't sure if it was still a case of drop straight in.

Trivial question - Nylocs vs spring washers

Absolutely hate flow forge. Happier walking across an RSJ a few hundred foot up than Flow forge more than 10ft of the deck.

    Edit: 19j to 300tdi not 200tdi. Sorry.

EDIT IT IS A 300TDI NOT 200!!!! Recently got my hands on a 300tdi engine and gear box. To replace the 19j. How much of an arse is it to do? New engine mounts: - Do the old ones need cutting out? - Will the 19j ones fit on 300tdi, or will it drop straight in? - Will anything need moving back...

    My 1983 Series 3

The beauty comes when I find the pics of the pannels, Hand made, even the curves were hand hammered and look ace. Match a dream.

    My 1983 Series 3

Nothing Chink at all. All of it is proper LR. Just a few bits are RRC with a 19j engine, soon to be 200tdi.

    My 1983 Series 3

Come to today. Finally had enough of the drab horrible, some idiot paint GLOSS black interior. So stripped and painted in priner resdy for 2nd coat. Still in half a mind of doing it jet black like the outside.

    My 1983 Series 3

Done a full rewire on it. Since the loom was just a nightmare to even do anything with.

    My 1983 Series 3

Then full floor plates and custom tunnel. Every thing i'm doing has 3 or 4 layers of next phase on top, so the floor plates. Too the tunnel. Hopefully going to look something like a challenge truck when finished.

    My 1983 Series 3

After the roof swap, I decided to strip 36yrs of house paint and other horrible stuff of it, back to bare metal and start again.

    My 1983 Series 3

Before we start: - I am not a purist, - This is not a 'real' Series 3, - Yes it is on springs, - No it will not be back to standard. Now all that is over. I swapped this for my 00 TD5 Disco, was dropped off, and been at it for 2yrs now.

    Ermn hello.

Most of the parts have been hand made. And look the bollocks if you ask me.

    Ermn hello.

Will do. Got hundreds from start to finish. Interior is completely custom. From 3mm galv. Just in the process of rewiring it.

    19j wiring.

Got that battery lead on. It is the rest of it, like power to the fuse boxes and such. It used to be an arse to start, Push a button for the glow plugs, Flip a switch for fuel pump, Turn the keys, Take the keys out, It would keep running with no keys in it.

    19j wiring.

My Series 3 has a 19j in it. The woring was a burds nest. 36yrs of dodgy stuff, so no chance of sorting it. Just had to rip it all out. Can someone give me and idea of how to get it to turn over?

    Ermn hello.

Hello from N.E Lincs. Currently rebuilding a 1983 88in Series 3. Many people say I have 'bastardised' it. But I prefer 'doing it my own way'. So far it has a custom wiring loom, tunnel, ect. With the hope of a Roll cage and everthing else. Tha ks for leting me join.
