    Mpg Auto 300tdi??

hi just thought i'd throw in t'uppence worth from the dark side........... My d2 V8 on lpg gets around 14mpg b road / town driving and 17 mpg on a motorway @70mph this is at 52.9p /l so I reckon my v8 is more economical than your 300tdi. And I get a biggger grin when i floor it.....lol

lpg how far to your tank

Lister I would ignore the led lights. They are notoriously inaccurate. the guage will only be on one tank not both , the theory being they will empty at the same rate. the best thing to do is run them dry and note the mileage. twin 30l tanks will give a usable capacity of around 48/50 l of gas...

lpg how far to your tank

looks like you are getting around 12 / gallon. not great , but , if you have a heavy right foot and town driving then probably about right. still equivalent to mid-high twenties at doosel prices worth it for the grin factor

worth putting a help wanted message on the forum . Lots of the guys have fault readers and will come to you (obviously it will cost you. Maybe a cup of tea , probably cash). cheaper than dealer though.

hi ajk there is a big debate around changing gearbox oil on the auto box. some say dont do it as the atf oil is a detergent and dislodges crud , causing more problems. some say change it , drive around for a week , change it again . some say its a consumable service item so change it.. if you...

    disco auto

I am about to change my gearbox oil but am having second thoughts , I was going to do an oil and filter change then do another oil change a week or 2 later to get rid of any 'dislodged' debris. I know the pros and cons ,but I believe that regular oil changes have to be a good thing...

    disco auto

Are you checking the engine oil or gearbox oil???? also I know the 4.0 auto (i think the box is the same) is meant to 'hold' onto gears longer when cold to aid warmup and smooth running when cold. what do you mean by reluctant?

    problems

have you checked the air flow sensor , they are pretty sensitive and will cause running probs. also you say it starts fine and then gets worse , its not a stuck choke is it???

    soggy footwell

leak was passenger side only. I say was as it hasn't leaked again. hose pipe on windscreen was fine . there was a load of crud under the rubber seal in the corner . It only happened when driving in torrential (and i mean torrential / flash flood) rain. the harness sounds like a good shout...

    Discovery series 2

you dont say petrol or diesel . common faults include leaking sunroofs, look for water stains in headlining . if leaking usually means complete headlining removal to fix. simple and cheap to fix but time consuming . air flow sensor is almost a consumable (will misfire under acceleration , run...

    lpg tanks

have you got a d1 or d2 ? I dont think you can fit underslung (sill) tanks on d2 due to compressors and things. I have a d2 which has had the petrol tank removed and replaced wiht a smaller one. twin 40l tanks in place of tank as to cost who knows , as mine was already done

    soggy footwell

hi all, after feeling smug sat in the torrential rain with a dry headlining:), (both sunroofs fixed 2 weeks ago) i was driving home tonight and noticed water on the rubber mat passenger side:mad:. I reached down and the foam on the back of the board? under the dash was soaked on the passenger...

    New Camshaft Noise

104k on mine but that said it does run quietly (lpg system fitted) and even in this weather it never goes above 1/2 on temp gauge. I haven't had it all my way tho. in the 3 months I've had it maf sensor 2 lambda sensors rear discs coil packs and leads both sunroofs leaking (headlining...

    New Camshaft Noise

Are slipped liners common on d2 v8's? I thought it was more of a 3.9 problem? I am now driving with an eye on the temp guage and an ear in the engine bay!!!! such a relaxing drive

    BONE IDLE !!!! sometimes

It is an ag multipoint system and it has only recently been serviced / set up. I have got new lambda sensors to go on as there have been fault codes for them (diagnosed as 'lazy') . it didn't make a difference switching to petrol once stopped , it still 'surged' as i rarely run on petrol I...
