Hi got my 90 a year ago. turbo has been removed. very gutless especially with trailer. Mate has just bought one today with 19j and it goes so much better than mine. Thinking of fitting a turbo again. Any advise or anyone know of one for sale? no idea why or when original was removed...

2.5 TD converted to N/A. Help needed with breather cap

Thanks flat I have looked into it and i think the ebay link is my best option. I did email the chap with a few questions. He did manage to get back to me but avoided answering any! I presume the breather goes into the side tube on cyclone oil out bottom and air out to to a t piece into inlet...

2.5 TD converted to N/A. Help needed with breather cap

Thanks Flat, I will look into that option. Though i dont see the benefit of a catch tank if it is going straight back into the inlet manifold. Surely there is no need to catch it? Beside the dipstick is another rubber pipe which has been bunged leading to the sump, turbo oil return? If i...

2.5 TD converted to N/A. Help needed with breather cap

Thanks so much for all your replies. there is a pipe come out near the dipstick with a rubber bung and hose clip on it. possibly for the turbo? I will have to look at it again when i get a moment but work is manic at the moment. Does it physically require the extra breather which originally...

my 110 takes long to start 1st thing.

Wonder if I've been doing it wrong then. Mines a 19j that is now normally aspirated. I find I have to hold it on glow for over 40 secs before cranking. I was told to hold throttle flat out doing so. Always cranks about 8 times before firing when cold. Starts instantly when warm

2.5 TD converted to N/A. Help needed with breather cap

Hi. My 90 is an F plate and was originally fitted with a turbo. I believe it is a 19j engine which at some point has been converted back to the more reliable (and slower) normally aspirated. Everything works fine (ish) but i am confused over the engine oil breather. After recently fitting a...

Breathers on an F plate 90

That's what I thought. From what I gather the td5s have a tank breather that is 8mm to extend. Still not 100% sure though.

Breathers on an F plate 90

Thanks guys loads of info there cheers. Most the manifolds on ebay take 6mm connectors where can you get larger ones?. Is there a fuel breather or not? Mine has the 2.5td engine but at some point has been turned back to a n/a.found 30m of pipe for about 20 quid. Prob enough to do 2 trucks! Cheers

    F plate 90 breathers / wading kit

Thank you. Rarely will go to in water but I just like to do things properly. Apparently there is an 8mm breather tube off the fuel tank? I would like to route them into a manifold yes. Do you know what size fittings go onto axles etc I think they are 6mm 1/8 bspp is this right? Regards Richard

    F plate 90 breathers / wading kit

What exactly would i need, i there actually a fuel tank breather as kits dont include one? surely it is better to replace everything right to the axle rather than extend the 25 year old tubes. Any info on what i need or where to get it would be greatly appreciated. Is one pipe up the...

Breathers on an F plate 90

Hi i after fitting the snorkel i need to sort out breathers. Done a lot of searching on here about which kit or diy. Would my axles be push fit or ball valve type fittings? it seems more expensive to build your own which seems odd as people reckon they can do it for 20quid. What exactly...

2.5 td sorkel fitting. doing away with old air pipe and fitting new advice please

Thanks. I after another look I think I may fit the snorkel the standard way as getting a pipe up the side of the heater box and the wing would be tricky. Land rover would have done that to start with if it was possible rather than have a moulded piece of plastic to get round it. Thank you for...

2.5 td sorkel fitting. doing away with old air pipe and fitting new advice please

Hi chaps. I have an F reg 90. Originally had a 2.5 early turbo but at some stage has been converted back to a normally aspirated lump. The intake is still on the wing. I have bought a Bearmach copy of the safari snorkel. This weekend I will hopefully be fitting it. What I don't like about...

    Side stickers/decals/graphics for 1988 90

Did you do away with the inner edge original plastic fitting then or is that on there? looks like a good way of doing it because you can see its sealed rather than hope! Can you recall the pipe size and what type / where to buy it?

    Side stickers/decals/graphics for 1988 90

Foam gasket, plus the relevant fixing bolts etc. Mine was a early TD with the intake on the nearside wing, for some reason there is no longer a turbo on it but i think its the same lump so its just a 2.5n/a. The flexi pipe goes under the heater box to the filter box up the front. The filter...
