    The Mixture Screw

I was told that under the little disc on the top of the Throttle Body was the tick over screw!! and so like a Fool I listened and played with this allen key head bolt/screw which didn't alter my tick over one bit, but when I took the old girl for MOT he said it was running that rich it was off...

    Up-date Head-gaskets, still the same

The water hoses should not be rock hard, if so sounds asthough the coolant system is pressurizing. This could be down too not having the head skimmed. Did you check if the liners had dropped or for cracks in them at all??

    crank sensor on p38?

I found unplugging was best done from the top, kneel on the front panel and rest my tummy :D on the engine as the wire runs down the back of the N/S (England) of the engine. From underneath the car if you look at the exhaust manifold, look back to where the gearbox joins the block and you will...

    cutting out

There doesn't seem to be any pattern to me, just random when the car is at running temperature. I did wonder if there was a temperature sensor that would do this but could not think that it would cut the car out if there was. . I ordered a Crank Sensor today so will fit it tomorrow and see what...

Trying to pick brains here Guys . . . I have a 4.6 P38 Range Rover that runs well then will cut out. It turns over but does not fire. Leave it ten or fifteen minutes go back and it will start, then again run well then cut out again. Does this sound like the Crank Sensor starting to play uo...

    Strange goings on!

I am just learning with Range Rovers so maybe not much help to you... but if it were a leaking airbag or pipe I would have thought the car would have gone down and not come back up. I would say it sounds electrical, maybe a broken wire or bad earth... so some of the Guys in the know will be...
