If they are supposed to separate, then how do you fix them on? Surely if they are a loose fit, then they wouldn't turn with the steering wheel?? All three 2 spokes I have had have been fixed solid to the back of the wheel.

Ahhh... the indicator cancelling peg plate!! Most often found just behind the steering wheel :-) The 2 spoke wheels (tdi onwards) I know for a fact have them attached to the wheel, and I cant imagine they would be removable. Not sure on the older 4 spoke wheel but doubt they would be...

Engine was a flat as a fart and had a bit too much diesel knock (although I thought the thing was about to self destruct - chalk that down to experience!!) Pulls like a train now, and diesel knock has halfed at least :-)
