    Defender crossmember query

If you can edit the advert listing, I would change the 'rear cross bar changed last year' to 'rear crossmember replaced last year. Just a basic thing like using the incorrect term for the part could give people the idea that you aren't clued up on what you are selling, and make low bids (such...

    Help, my knob's falling off!

I must have been feeling flush the day I splashed £3.50 for a new one ;-)

Rc airplanes Propper ones not toys!

Love the piper cub, what ARTF kit was it from? Had to sell all of mine when I moved out of home, but kept all of the radio gear and engines. Still like to get the little 2-strokes running on the test bench - nothing matches the smell of burning castor oil!! Are you leaving the sport altogether...

    Imperial/AF tools

Hi My tool collection is growing weekly, but exclusively in metric sizes. Will there be a need for a set of imperial/AF sockets to work on a 1992 90? Ta Ben

    Steering wheel cancel pegs?

If they are supposed to separate, then how do you fix them on? Surely if they are a loose fit, then they wouldn't turn with the steering wheel?? All three 2 spokes I have had have been fixed solid to the back of the wheel.

    Steering wheel cancel pegs?

Ahhh... the indicator cancelling peg plate!! Most often found just behind the steering wheel :-) The 2 spoke wheels (tdi onwards) I know for a fact have them attached to the wheel, and I cant imagine they would be removable. Not sure on the older 4 spoke wheel but doubt they would be...

    Exhaust clamp pic request

Hi All, Tried to fit a new tailpipe to the exhaust this morning due to the old one wearing through as it was hard up against the chassis. I can or the life of me work out the arrangement of the bushes, brackets and clamps for the rear cross member clamp/hanger. I think this may be a botch up...

    Defender 90 TD5 1999---HELP PLEASE

There is a place in Washington, just past Makro on the same trading estate: Spanner Monkeys Marsha and Peter will be more than bothered about your Landy - Marsha even named mine for me when it went in for a bit of lecky work :-) Other than that, there is North East and Rover Services down in...

    Hats off to Oldseadog!!

Dont worry about it, wasnt your fault!! I blame the esablishment!!! I already have a friendly VAT registered garage who has emailed me over the price that I had to pay for recovery and repairs ;-)

    Hats off to Oldseadog!!

After looking at all of the flaky paint coating each and every screw thread, I think my winter jobs may have to be to clean some off! If all else fails, I might just start systematic replacement of the extra painted bits :-) I am willing to wager a parking ticket envelope (whoops ... council...

    Hats off to Oldseadog!!

Engine was a flat as a fart and had a bit too much diesel knock (although I thought the thing was about to self destruct - chalk that down to experience!!) Pulls like a train now, and diesel knock has halfed at least :-)

    Hats off to Oldseadog!!

Massive thanks to Herb for doing his magic on my engine - I can now hit 70 easily! Makes the 2.5na a keeper for sure! Made me a very happy new Landy custodian! Have to say though - diesel pump adjustment just looks like black magic to me ;-) Ben

    Hub end/drive flange colour?

That took me about 2 mins to translate. I kept saying it is a very poor Africo-Carribean accent! ;)

    Free wheels/Tyres

No probs, no hurry to get rid - just rather they went to some use with them being Rostyles, they seem to be thin on the ground :-)

south shields to leeds/wakefield or close

Hi, No rush at all to get rid, they are just what was removed from the auld mans defender. Lick of paint and they will look spot on - I reckon he should have kept them, but he wanted modulars. Ben
