Steering box and drop arm removal nightmare

My first job was to fix the play in the steering on my 1991 defender. Here's what happened so far: -Castle nut came off ball joint ok, drag link went off easy! -Nut for drop arm was solid. 20 mins of going for it only to get it loose after I started to heat it up via the angle grinder on the...

Ticking noise... Fuel lift pump handle

It took 3 hours and it's still not off. The nut took 10 mins! I angle grinded the side of the arm, still got more to cut, I broke a flat hammer in it too.

Ticking noise... Fuel lift pump handle

Hi, I knew on mine it was not right. Check out a quick YouTube Google and see what it should look like. Also see if it can hold in the up position maybe?

Ticking noise... Fuel lift pump handle

That was my next question, thanks for the advice on make! It's a 1/5 spanner job in the Haynes. That's my level! Looking forward to it! Just wondering where's the best place to get a Delphi or LR part online? Will check my local 4x4 garages and euro parts. Many thanks on the advice!

    Window won't close

Cool will try that many thanks! For a while I thought it was totally stuck, goes 4 inches only. Then I gave it a small wiggle and boom, it came up easy!

    Window won't close

Just about to lock the defender, the window is all the way down. Went to close it and it and the handle would only turn a few revolutions, then it got really tight and stopped turning. The window would only close 4 inches. Any help would be great thanks.
