Fitted the turbo vent, now to contemplate the thermostat problem, btw now developed a clunking noise going over slightly rough roads (that will be all of the west midlands then) so will have to get the suspension looked at near the weekend.....oh dear:frown:

What I can work out from other threads is that you will have to strip the consul out , starting with the top black strip exposing the two screws holding it in, a pain but straightforward taking your time, I will be doing it eventually.

Hi. have to say what a pile of old poo the satnav/radio is, I have it also and the sound is tinny at the front combined with a deep rumble from the sub in the back, I would love to change the head, but being HK it would be difficult combining a new radio head unit and ditching the sub but...

today did an oil and filter change and replaced the air filter, cant do the turbo vent filter as it ain't arrived by royal fail yet. was going to change the fuel filter but looking at service book it was changed ay 106k then also at 118k, I am now at 123k so no worries! seams a bit excessive but...

am I right in thinking that you can supply the mod Arctic2 ? or do you just source it from the bay ?

Cheers Arctic2 .just the info I was hoping for, I might have another go at fitting the "in tube" one but refitting the top hose back on without removing the manifold was a cow!, and at least the "Ali" one could be opened up if the thermo ever failed again, btw my heater does blow Luke warm and...

as part of my service for the TD4 I was going to change the underbonnet fuel filter, but looked all over for it, read somewhere that it is around the battery/fuses area....cant see a thing, also having just done an EGR bypass(all seams well) the one side that the vacuum pipe used to fit onto on...

Hi divvy Just reading about you picking up your thermostat bypass kit, I want one for my td4 but unsure of which one, is that the one you cut into the top hose ? Where did you get yours from? Cheers

probably in terms of reliability/interior/goodies, but then it looks soooo boxy and bland....not for me. :cool:

Hi , did you have to add add extra connectors to change the radio, I assume it was Harmon system, with steering wheel controls....rear camera also sounds good, any pics will be appreciated.

Well I have changed the egr for the bypass one (stainless steel) not too bad to do although took it for a test drive and blew off the inlet hose to the egr, the old egr I will clean and keep (or sell it if there is a market) the old one, but to be fair it wasn't to bad inside, the next job is...

anyone ?? some informed owner will know...

Hi all after trying to fit a gates thermostat into my freelander TD4 top hose and failing, I have decided to buy the other type that you cut into the top hose.. see link to the bay.. 321694336462 but these are made in different diameter inlets/outlets. I am assuming that the top hose is the same...

Yeh Hippo I get the suv bit, but on parts like an egr blanking kit surely the BMW engine would be the same I would have thought on the 3 or 5 door. Just checked again on the bay, and it does say under "body style" SUV (open), but it baffles me why it wouldn't fit a 5 door though, same...
