De EGRd and De catted my 300tdi My advice is go for the Flexi version on the pipe-a bit more expensive but much easier to fit plus it cuts down on vibration a bit too:D

Plumbing tape -now thers an idea:D So with the brass plugs if I put on an O ring,then some tape then some Hylomar blue it will never leak-or probably never be removable:D:D

You can do it if you B&Q it:D Is it worth putting some Hylomar on the bung threads:)

Daft question all-when you replace the thermostat is the jiggle thingy at 12 oclock or aligned with the small cut out on the housing at around 3 mins to 12:D

If I remember from the handbook the DimDip is not used if the landy has headlamp levelling:D which mine has (1995 300tdi ) but the actual resistor is fitted to the bulkhead:eek:

My own experience with the 300tdi is it will start with NO Glows working. I would investigate further like a fuelling problem maybe:eek: Im sure someone will have the answer on here somewhere:D

At what it costs :eek: I will be very frugal :D:D

Another daft question I have bought some Hylomar sealant (the blue stuff) as I am going to change some gaskets on the engine and hubs etc -300tdi Can you use the same stuff on the water pump and P gaskets as well Cheers Paul:D

Hi all How much brake fluid does the system hold.ie how much to refill after a complete drain of the system:D

Good point mate Couldnt find a part No for it so left it alone.As its on the top it probably will last better than the other two seals:D Top bolt was also Very Very tight

There is a fuse - on one of the satelite fuse boxes (F6 I think) attached to the main fuse board which supplies the interior lights-that might be gone:)

Did the whole lot on my 300tdi Disco last week Got he De cat pipe with flexi + centre silencer + tail pipe with exhaust from Paddocks Hardest part was the 3 nuts that hold the down pipe to the manifold (they were tight and 5/16 from memory) Used grinder to cut off tail pipe and centre box...

Oh forgot to add-did all the track rod and drag link ball ends They were reaaaaaly hard to get off:eek::D

Got rid of the cat as well weekend before last:D No smoke at all now and running well:D:D

From my own experience of doing this take out the whole ERG and put a blanking plate on the manifold and new hose from intercooler to inlet manifold.You can get a complete kit on Ebay-plate ,new gasket and hose. Worked for me and looks good too.:D
