Sorry, but I took AA cover out whilst I was sat at the side of the road wondering about what I could do and so my girlfriend and kids didn't get freezing cold

Not the rocker cover gasket, one of the bolts was loose hence the oil. AA reckons it was no.2 injector but my local garage are saying that it could be either rocker shaft or even head gasket although there was no overheating or loss of oil or coolant. Could this be the case?

Yeah, I've just called them out now.

Or can anyone help at all. Supposed to be going down to Staines this evening to take my girlfriend and her boys home :(

In leamington spa, discovery 300 tdi starting making a rattling noise, and a but of a chugging sound so I've pulled over. It has oil etc but I can see fresh oil leaking out of the rocker cover gasket. What should I do?? Thanks in advance. Jason

Coz on idle or overun, it is too quiet to be heard and not sure on this one but does the vacuum pump actually do anything unless the vehicle has gear engaged and is effectively moving?

It is most likely a noisy brake vacuum pump. Mine does exactly the same thing. They are about £95 off eBay (make sure you get the Wabco one) and it is a dead easy job to fit. There is a piston in them driven from the engine and they get noisy. It will fail eventually and you will...

I am positive the turbo is fine as on the open road it pulls and accelerates really well. It is just when you have a slope or similar that it cant manage, and only really from a standing start Jason
