Hi chaps my abs light has just come on. is this a common fault? what to look for first? also sometime she runs a bit limpy on tick over and when you rev the car it revs nice and smooth but as soon as the revs drop from 2000rpm to about 900rpm it is lumpy any ideas? it is a 1997 bmw 2.5 diesel

had a look today, there seems to be no air leaks in the intake side, the problem seems to be worse when the revs are up and then are allowed to go back to 600rpm, and from about 1500rpm down to 600rpm it seems a bit lumpy
