Good to hear others running a td6 (or anything) with no problems. The motto really is to make your own, then you can test the quality. Never had a problem with the defender, and know plenty of people running common rail engines on it. Got the spare filters ready!

I quite agree datasharp, straight veg oil would just knacker the injection pump due to the viscosity. But proper bio is as good as derv IMHO. Only problem is that waste oil is turning from a waste produce that restaurants used to pay to dispose of, into a commodity. I now have to pay £5 per 20...

No change in performance, and less sooty smoke under hard acceleration. I'll change the fuel filter in a couple of weeks as the first time it is used, it will clean the fuel tank and lines which will deposit in the filter. Chuffed!

I'm playing it safe with the first three to five tanks. Then will consider going to a higher percentage. I'm rolling with the equivalent of 48mpg now!

Thought I would update.... put 25 litres of bio in with £40 worth of diesel. Running lovely, slightly smoother is any difference!

I reset every tankful. The worst I have got is 22.7 mpg, and the best 28.5 mpg. Not bad for the size of the thing! Running 50% bio will mean the equivalent of 45/49 mpg! I agreed datasharp, there is so much paranoia about biodiesel. The reality is that most small forecourts selling regular...
