Hows it coming along britaxcooper? done any more to it? I'v re wired the ignition on mine and put the heater motor and matrix in situ on the bulkhead. It's ready for starting this weekend as soon as the radiator is fitted. Heres some more piccys.....

I'll have a quick check. Although I Know where the play is steming from. I think I'll take the shim out, measure it and try the next size or two up as they go from 2mm to 3.25mm in .05 increments. I have no other accurate way of measuring in situ, the amount of play. Thanks for the reply...

Hi all, here's a good one for ya! There is a fair amount of play in the front output shaft of my transfer box. The propshaft UJ is fine and the flange bearing has been replaced. When the propshaft is off there is no play but when the propshaft is on it is leavering slightly off the flange...

I totally agree!! Could you imagine how big they would have to be for a Land Rover prop, especialy if you'v had a two inch lift.

It would probably be better if we used the same prop as used on your Avatar. Whats good for a BMW is good for a wonky caravan, especially if its got big tits!!

I can't say that I'v ever heard of anyone cutting the wings either but I'm not sure how well they fit with a lower turbo. You would also then have problems with fitting an exhaust if the turbo was lower. Perhaps you could change both manafolds and replace the turbo with defender 200tdi...

The engine does sit further forward on the 300tdi and the mountings will not line up. If you hadn't figured it out yet, the turbo on a 200tdi sits much higher on a defender to a discovery which is why your garage guy was on about chopping wings. I cant remember off the top of my head if the...

Just for fun on a weekend!! winching a series three up a quarry face. I was thinking about putting a winch on my series three but I'm afraid if I do then my smokey diesel will only go about 4 mph and mpg!!
