Mine was recovered after 2 weeks....they tried to disguise it by painting it with gloss paint with a paintbrush!!!. It has been written off because of this but is due to be delivered back to me in the next few days for 'restoration'

I am in Tetbury, not far from you. Do you know anyone local who would do the respraying should I not be able to get the paint off or damage whats underneath. (For a reasonable price)

Still waiting for the insurance to assess it........don't know what they have been up to but I have phoned them every day, telling them its costing £20 a day where it is!!. They are supposed to be going tomorrow (Friday). After all your encouraging remarks about the paint coming off eventually...

My beloved landy was recovered by Thames Valley police last week after being stolen for two weeks. They too have transformed it into a 'chav box' by painting it bright green with gloss paint with paintbrushes and putting a big number 88 in the back window. Although there isn't any other damage...

So maybe people in the Reading/Wokingham area paint their front/garage doors that colour!!!!

And then drop off!!!!!, I really hope so. I would pay to see that (I'm not bitter really)

Don't worry, I was only joking, it really is hideous, I can't imagine why they would make that colour or what kind of person even buys it......although I can imagine. Surely if you are driving a stolen car around you don't want to draw attention to yourself, perhaps they were colourblind. Morons.

Perhaps I should just call him Henry or Percy and put up with the green!!!:(

Maybe a dumb question but where could I take it for a hot jetwash, where they wouldn't mind all the green paint messing up the floor??

I haven't got it back, my insurance company have yet to recover it from the police pound, and probably write it off. Who on earth makes or buys paint that colour??.....or would drive round in a vehicle that colour........maybe they thought they looked cool....moronic inbreds

I have now been told that its a really bad paint job and the garage thinks it will be scrapped!!!. The lady from soco said I would be shocked. Would the insurance scrap a perfectly good landy just because of that?? Now I am really worried again. How much does a respray cost??
