OK, well was chatting with the guy who MoTs the buses at the job I was on today, seems I may fail an MoT if I come through the front wing as the fumes could come through an open window too easily. So I have opted to be safe and exit it out the rear quarter.

Its a 200tdi, sounds awesome without the exhaust and yet surprisingly bearable when on a run.

think I will take land rover a pot of marine grease on my way past, atleast with some of that on the right parts I would have stood a chance of getting this job done. and to top it all off I have had day off today and now it is persisting down and I got no cover to work in.

This sounds like one of Land rovers cunning plans to make life awkward, whats wrong with a bit of rust protection on these motors especially in really awkward places.

Hi have undone the 2 nuts that appear told the ball\joint to the frame, but the long bolt is siezed in. looks like frame and everything is coming out then and this was meant to be simple.

Does anyone have one I can borrow (in solihull area) needs to fit 30mm nut, or can anyone tell me where I can buy one from, have doen a search of net but not been succesful yet unless I spend more than the car is worth :(

Does a blow torch give enough heat or does it have to be oxy? Not sure I could get in with nut splitter, Land rover kindly made sure there was no room around it.

Trying to remove my rear axle on a 200tdi however I cannot get the a frame balljoint nut undone, I know from a previous thread I hijacked :o that it is a 30mm nut, however it does not seem that a socket can be used so it is spanner time. I bought correct spanner drowned nut in WD40 but cannot...
