From memory the ! one is a general engine management fault, ie low fuel pressure, or sensor problem etc, the one on the left that only goes out when the engine is running indicates an emissions fault.

Probably low on gas.. it should run regardless of ambient temp, ours will automatically come on when its set to windscreen, good for demisting

Checked out the pump that played up on mine, the screws and the bores they run in looked perfect, but would occasionally lock and not turn by hand, a little jiggle and they would rotate again, bit how it was on the car really.. if it wouldn't run a quick clout usually got it going..

Good stuff, main dealer pump price was about £120 when mine played up about 4 years ago, so £300 for the lot probably isnt far out, dealers probably run about £70 hour as well..

Does sound like low fuel pressure in the low pressure feed from the tank. Fuel pump can be a usual culprit, but if you say you can hear it running it could be a clogged fuel filter, or pick up in the tank. Have you recently just filled up with fuel? When was the filter last changed? Maybe...

Just never set the multimeter to read current (amps) and connect it across a voltage source such as the battery, or indeed the mains!! There will be a bang and brown stuff may appear....

When you say you heard it beep do you mean from outside the car while it was locked?? Did its horns make this sound?? If you have a low battery in the keyfob, the car will tell you when you unlock with keyfob and open the drivers door, you will hear a beeping sound accompanied with a flashing...

As Nodge just touched on the brake light switch, ours started that with TC and ABS lights on, they would randomly go on and off as you used the brakes, turned out to be the brake light switch, Land Rover now supply a modified harness for it too.... A scan of the ABS will tell you tho..

Exactly the same as how my VCU bearings just failed, sounded more from the NSF wheel, removed prop and noise gone... Replaced the bearings and alls good, popped the seal on the old bearings and they were full of rust!!! Not supprised really.. the amount of dam water laying everywhere!!! good fun...

If its the fuel pump, both EML lights will come on, normally one will go out and leave the other on, in the case of no fuel, they will both stay on. This is before you crank the engine, just ignition on. Would have thought the pump has a 12v feed via a relay..
