Have some ideas as to whats causing it...loose UJ'S? Only seems to do it in low gears. A loud clunking noise whilst changing gear. Can be allieviated by feathering the change with the clutch. Is it the Clutch?

defender 1988 lwb V8 3.9efi. Has sprung a leak. So ive decided to replace it as it cant be driven. Assuming I get the tank (85quid on ebay) can I fit it myself with just rudimentory mechanical knowledge? Thx in advance The leak is coming from the tanks base.(standard tank fitted)

ok got it. ill fill the tank to 3/4 to rule out any other issues. cos its only got a 1/4 tank normally. this might be the cause. then if the pickup is faulty ill drop the tank and drain then either replace it or improvise...namely a petrol proof rubber hose with a filter on the end. those sender...

its leaking very very slightly from the hub. spraying the wheel. if u look at the wheel compared to other wheels its covered in oil where the other wheels are spotless. I wipe it clean and a week later its dirty again.

Is it diff oil ? if so will i need to undo the hub an replace the oil seal? is this straight foward or do i have to drain the rear diff?
